Netflix problems?

I never had to worry about unlock the bootloader like some users if I'm not wrong, so I guess that's because Samsung doesn't lock the bootloader?

In the US carrier provided phones have locked bootloader. I don't know how it is in other countries.

Yep. I was googling and all the info I found about galaxy note 2 with locked bootloader was about Verizon's Note 2.
My phone is from Spain. I doubt it has the bootloader locked because I never saw a note 2 user from Ehrope or Asia talking about unlocking the bootloader.

Well.. If you have root access, bootloader is unlocked. I don't know whether you can go back and forth lock/unlock bootloader. If that's possible maybe you could lock the bootloader on your phone and check whether you can get Netflix HD.

Yep. You lost your DRM key. I am actually glad that you brought this up. It can now be almost confirmed that DRM is essential to get Netflix HD (unless the app can be modified to work without DRM).

It looks like if you are on OS API 19, you get 1750 kbps 480p otherwise, it is 1350 kbps 480i.

Tapatalk posted on accident. Anyway, ya thats kinda lame too. I will go back to stock kernel. Then stock ROM through ODIN and see if I'm back to 1080. Should be fine after that if this is correct I would assume.

As long as your EFS partition is intact, going back to stock ROM would "unbreak" DRM. Do let us know how it goes.

I have got 2 phones at home,
HTC One M7 (mine) - Running custom rom & kernel. Netflix went up to 480p 1750kbps
LG G2 (Wife's) - Absolutely stock, no modifications. Result was same, 480p 1750kbps

Both phones are full hd screens, were tested on the same network & with the same El Fuente 60 mp 10 clip.

I am not actually a Minix x8h user right now but was in the market for a media player & decided in favor of Amazon Fire TV instead of X8h because of the same Netflix issue. I would like to follow this discussion and see if some solution can be found for this.

I am not actually a Minix x8h user right now but was in the market for a media player & decided in favor of Amazon Fire TV instead of X8h because of the same Netflix issue. I would like to follow this discussion and see if some solution can be found for this.

Does the Fire TV have HD playback with netflix? If so, is it also the version 3.6.0?

See if you can get some ideas about how to get HD in Netflix.
