    Minix Neo X8/X8-H Stock BETA 3 in flashable ZIP format

    OK folks. Minix is releasing their ROMs as flashable images using the AML flash tool.

    Unfortunately Windows 8.1 users have problems getting the drivers installed and the flash tool working.
    I don't have Windows 8 so cannot test why the drivers are a problem.

    But.... here is the stock ROM in ZIP update format.

    This is the Minix X8 BETA 003 - 6/28 ROM just released.


    NOTE: THIS WILL ERASE YOUR DEVICE! So backup anything you want to keep!
    Minix is not releasing ZIP updates only flash tool updates. The flash tool erases the box!
    There is a reason for this.
    Major updates it is much better to erase as you don't know what junk is left from previous ROM that can cause problems! As people saw on an update that did not erase, things were not right like a missing stock browser, etc.

              Will your tweaker erase the data again if installed on top of this beta 3? If tweaker erases the data, I would like to wait till tweaker is out.

                Yes unfortunately, the changes I make it's best to erase.

                Tweaker will be out in a little while.


                Also FYI before someone complains. While Minix added the Xbox and PS3 it is not working in the stock ROM. The modules are not loading into the kernel. I will fix that with my tweaker.

                    Yep... will be provided.

                    Also, I was incorrect about xbox support. It's built in the kernel this time. Kernel already has:
                    ff-memless.ko, kpad.ko, and gameport.ko

                    However PS3 is still missing so tweaker will add
                    hidps3remote.ko and hidsony.ko

                        FYI, if you use the device ID tweak, Minix XBMC wont work while build.prop is spoofing a Nexus 10.
                        I don't have time to mod Minix XBMC right now. It's a lot of work to be honest.
                        But you can always switch back to Minix in build.prop and make it work again.

                            Fast Work

                            Thank you for getting the flashable zip to us so fast. A really great service.

                            I installed it OK via SD card. No time to try it out yet but I had to reboot it three times before all system apps installed. They appeared in successive waves!

                              You have to wait almost 5 minutes for all the pre-install apps to install. Yes it takes a long time.
