I have tested the AV connector. it works perfect on the cyxtech_rk31_cs918V6_8723_140829_4.4_8g2g ROM.
also the hdd the last time i did connected. id did not work it keeps like "rebooting the hdd", it may have a flaw the power supply.
i may need to buy a 2A Certify power supply.
With this "new" rom im very happy with the device. no frame skipping and smooth. i has gain my respect again
Rk Remote control works too. ( This is an app to use on android phone / tablet to control the media player as it was a remote control)
XBMC 11.2 works like charm it does hardware decoding. im able to watch online streamed movies with any king of issues.

See my post here
The best Kitkat ROM I fond for it is cyxtech_rk31_cs918V6_8723_140829_4.4_8g2g.
Video is smooth and everything works.
However, there are 2 deal breakers for me:
1. It only has 720p resolution. It is OK for video material, but not for my photos.
2. It has no NTFS support. I want to connect to an external drive.
I tried CYX_CS918 V2_3 KK Wasser1-0-4, which has 1080p resolution, but it is a bit quirky as pointed out in this thread.
So I am afraid the box goes back into Mercado Livre (the local ****).

I set static IP, gateway and DHCP in ethernet settings, and now it's work perfectly ! CYX_CS918 V2_3 KK Wasser1-0-4

No sound after an upgrade to 4.4
Greetings Gurus
I purchased CS918 in Australia and after opening the case, I ascertain that is indeed the same model.
Originally it was installed with 4.2 and after I tried to upgrade it to 4.4, I can not get the sound.
I tried various ROMs suggested here and no luck.
When I rolled back to the original firmware, the sound is back.
Is my box faulty or any other thoughts? I tried it with a diff HDMI cable and still no joy.
Please help
