I tried this one also since i have the CYX_CS918 V2_3 but the box keeps rebooting. It says smart tv logo and then goes to the android man and reboots again any ideas whats going on ?

Hey thanks a lot that works perfect I used the HDMI version but I wish I could get a kit Kat version that works the wesser one in that list jerks too much watching movies off shoebox and xbmc any ideas for a kit Kat version

Installing KitKat

Hi i am very new to android, i would like to have android 4.4 on my android box. I have downloaded this https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3W...ZnQ1pidk0/view . Can someone explain me briefly or show me an tutorial to how to install a rom. I already identified my device it's the same as the photo in the first post. I also attached a photo. Right now i have android jelly bean installed.

Well so far the wasser firmware loads sometimes, but its stuck in a bootloop most of the time. It also laggs like hell. I've put on the official 4.4.2 and it works but its still just 720p upscaled (Youtube only on 720). Download cyxtech_rk31_cs918V6_8723_140829_4.4_8g2g.rar from here :

and

Rockchip_Batch_Tool_v1.7-2014-12-25.zip

Connect cs918 to the pc via the OTG (mini usb - usb).
Go under USB -> Connect to pc (Tick it)
It should install some drivers.
Then go under Storage -> USB computer connection -> Mass storage (tick)
Moar drivers !
Security -> Unknown sources (tick it)
Developer option (to enable it keep pressing Build number in About device) -> USB Debugging (tick it)

Now run Rockchip batch tool and then hold the reset button (under the cs918) and power button.
The first square should change it color to green (if its pink thne press switch in the batchtool). Now choose cyxtech_rk31_cs918V6_8723_140829_4.4_8g2g.rar and then click restore.

It should be something like that.

If you want to root it, install Kingo root on the pc, connect your device and press root (USB debugging must be on).

Thank's Massivebanana i've installed the kitkat rom and root successfully with kingo! This is the first time i successfully done it, before i bricked many devices phones and android boxes. iOS and Mac user

hi, i installed ROM cyxtech_rk31_cs918_8723_141107_4.4_8g2g but after sound not working, i use HDMI to the TV, i try change all device in Sound Device Manager (Default, Spdif Passthrough, HDMI Bitstream).

i am using this rom and its great ... it fixed up other roms heating issue and rom is very smooth...
only issue i have is i am having trouble rooting this rom..

i tried kingo , it says root but applications dont have root... so its getting false

does anyone have root instructions for this rom..

I tried to flash the box with various firmware's but non of them worked and the box powers on but does not run anything and just turnoff by itself.
Please provide me a resolution quickly as soon as possible it's my humble request.

I tried to contact various person but none were helpful. I am also attaching herewith the photograph of the mother board.
