N101 Finless ROM 1.5a (update) - CWM, Init.d, and latest fixes!

    I flash last version of his ROM, run anTuTu, results 7600-8063 and copy his build.prop
    Than, i flash you ROM and first - delete AussiePad tweak, reboot. Test anTuTu 5 times, results 6300-6600.
    After that, i copy Tuen's build to your ROM and test it again.. results was the same.

            OK stock ROM like Tuen's ROM comes up with anywhere from 7500 to 8000+

            Tuen is not modding the ROM at this time near as much as I am. Not that it is bad. Tuen is a good guy! But the Antutu bench marks are the same for stock ROM as Tuen's ROM. No difference.

            Now I do see my 1.5 is slower.
            It's probably going to be the wifi fix or WPA_supplicant. I am digging in now to see what is taking away from processor and floating point scores since that is where the delta is.

            TRUST... I will find it and fix it.

              Ha! So everyone complaining about the battery icon in the status bar not updating real time?

              Well I applied a fix for that and because it is now trying to update more often, it is stealing CPU cycles!

              This is WELL KNOWN... Search XDA, etc, and you will find that people that want the battery icon super high status, loose performance.

              OK so I am still testing and seeing if I can find happy medium. At least I think I found the issue.

              FYI, kernel #338 is slightly faster than #485 as well..... REMEMBER FOLKS... Kernel #338 is the official kernel from Yuandao! Where the hell #485 came from, God only knows but it is for sure slower!

                OK so this is 100% the deal.... Making the battery icon be more accurate causes CPU drop in Antutu. It is a fact folks and something that is just the way is works.

                Services.jar is all services that run and monitor things like battery. If you try to make them more accurate it means MORE POLLING and thus more CPU time eaten by those processes. NO WAY AROUND IT!

                Then, kernel #338 gives another boost in speed. Average scores with Kernel #485 is about 7500 to 8000 max.
                Same ROM with kernel 338, gives average 7800 low to 8200+ as the high. Not a big delta but enough gamers might want!

                So what do you guys want me to chase?
                Stability, battery icon, etc?
                Or max performance?

                  Personally I would say performance far outweighs battery icon status, but that's just my thought.

                    I love me some stability.

                    Also, the more "max" the performance is the faster the battery will drain, and other problems arise..

                    Hmmmm...I think something in the middle would be best, and that's pretty much what you are doing right?

                      I'd prefer performance in Bob's ROMs. And stability. Drop out the battery stats!

                      The best way is to leave a choice somehow. Want stats? Get it b**ch. Performance? Alright, choose IT!

                            Battery life for me but either way . Ain't to bothered

                            I use the app battery widget anyway to show up a battery icon with a percentage in the taskbar. Way cooler

                            Maybe we could suggest this app Bob as something that can be downloaded after the Rom flash.

                            Try it see what you think its a cool app you can have a physical battery icon on the desktop or just in the taskbar showing percentage and lots of other stuff but not over bloated Crap like other ones :thumbup:

                              FYI if I go back to the stock policy.jar and services.jar for performance, we will also loose the power off dialog while charging. I may have to rip apart these services and see if I can find a better way. Thats going to take some time!

                              Yea and we all want something in life we cannot have! I explained. It takes processor time to update the battery icon more. Taking processor time way means less available for other things.

                                My tablet flies anyway. And there reporting programs are to of bull anyway. You would need the eye of an eagle to seriously notice the difference.

                                But that is just my opinion
