According to reports here, I did not understand at the end. to install the 1.3 or not?
I have a new device that I received today....
my device is 1.1.0.

I have a lot of devices and always updated with recovery , this much safer and easy, and you can always go back regardless of the PC.


Is it possible to make updates that can be installed with a recovery in addition to maintain.

I can look into that. I've just had better luck with flashing via PC. Update.zip's have some limitations.

You can not get to the About tablet I get a message Setting has stopped

If you have the old IMEI number, here is the procedure to enter it.

For all users...this isn't a really good way to do this...the better...more legal way is to backup your IMEI number with MobileUncle before you flash the ROM...as stated in the First Time User's Guide. Of coarse, that requires root to accomplish.

This is the zip file which is downloaded when the update is prompted. It's downloaded in a folder called system-update in the ext-sd, I think I remember...

Hi,
got trouble with my Tablet. I try to flash it with Flash Tool. i select Format all + Download.
After Formatting i got an Errror-Message and i want to try it again. But the Tablet is absolutly dead. I try all i know to start it. Power Button long pressing ( 10+ sec), together with vol+ or vol-, no chance. When i plug in PC i got an Error " Unknown USB-Device". When i plug in Power Cable there is no reaction like red-light LED or so. I think its hardbricked. Any chance to reactivate?

It sounds like your tablet is stuck in flash mode. Sometimes that will time out after several minutes/hours. Try again later to flash the ROM. Just make sure you are using a high quality USB cable...preferably the one that came with the tablet.

The problem with iFive tablets is that they don't come with a reset button. The only way I could fix mine one time was to open the back and clip the battery wire. I had do solder it back in...and everything worked after that. (On Pipo's you only have to press reset with a paper clip.) If you open the back, make sure you get everything put back tightly...or you will have a screen flicker when you boot back to system.

thanks for the Answer, can you explain me how I open the Tablet? I looked arround and I dont know how.
When I open it, did I lost my warranty? The Tablet is just 3 Days old.

In the past i used the S2 and the M8 from Pipo and i´ve never had such Problems.

The iFive tablets are different from the Pipo cases. You actually have to open the tablet from the front. Because of this, you have to be really really careful not to crack, bend or scratch the screen.

Take an xacto knife or something similar and run it along the seam around the edges. There are little clips holding on the back.

Once you pry a couple back, you will need something like a guitar pick or a credit card to hold it open while you work your way around.

Be sure to catch the plastic buttons as they fall out...so you can find them easily.
