You really need to use the flash tool to flash my ROM. There are too many limitations to flashing with CWM. For instance, you can't use the alternative EBR files with CWM to increase user app space.

So,now,having CWM,how we can install Riley's rom with it(or any rom) ?
Simply make a zip from his rom?

Hello, I managed to create recovery for Chuwi VX8, but the touch screen does not work, moving the menu only with buttons. I'll give you a link to the file.

Remember to donate...if you haven't done so already...I'm always looking for new tablets to test with.

One thing you can try yourself is to use the MTK Droid Tools (included in the ROM kit) to see if you can get it to make a CWM by connecting to the tablet. I've tried using external files, but maybe we can make a CWM from a running installation. Here's a link to a tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2379412 but try it without checking the "to choose boot.img file" button. It will attempt to make CWM from the files on the tablet. Maybe that will work. Be careful.

Someone a lot smarter than me will have to come up with a CWM. I can't get any of my tools/scripts to work with this stock recovery....it fails every time. I couldn't even do it manually.

If anyone runs across an update stock firmware from Chuwi, send me a link and I will make a new ROM.

Meanwile i will stick with your great rom

I recommend staying on Dalvik. There are some compatibility issues running apps in ART.

You can try ART and see if you have problems with apps disappearing from your tablet. The problem is that some apps aren't designed to run in ART and won't show up in the app drawer.

Wow,i don't want my apps disppearing,so i will stay on Dalvik
BTW,i still wait for CWM(and no new rom?)
