CM10 compatibility boot image for Polaroid PMID702c, PMID703c, & PMID7Xc (might work on other A13 tablets - UNKNOWN) that will allow you to run Christian Troy's Allwinner A10 CM10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1821398

1st boot takes a while be patient let it sit and do its thing i personally recommend at this point you take a 15 minute break grab a cold one and relax and let the device build its cache and settle down.

    Known Bugs

Camera - is not fully working yet can't take pictures crashes camera and gallery not sure if this affects video chat apps or not. (there is an alternative compatibility patch you can use up: it has the camera libs from CT preview4, though it is not a total fix some times you have to open and close the camera a few times to get the camera to connect. still looking into the issue but it seems to be a known issue for several allwinner tablets.)

Added MountAllwinner.apk use this app to mount SDCARD for PC connection or:

    * If you have issues with Tablet -> PC connection use an app to transfer files via WiFi, like "Airdroid". Or use the script "mass-storage" as workaround. To use it open terminal emulator and type these commands:
    Code:

    su
    mass-storage enable

    [ do your stuff ]

    mass-storage disable

    Works well.

on step 4 the text that comes up on screen say "Poraroid."

As an aside, I wish Christian would offer a slim Rom, there is so much bloat, Rom Manager and Adobe Air as system apps? Really?

        PMID703C

I picked up a PMID703C today for $96. Since this model does not precisely match those listed above, I am wondering if it is safe to use these instructions to install Jelly Bean on the PMID703C.

I'll download the livesuite firmware tmrw and confirm, in the mean time if you can post your build.prop file fo me to review. If you look at my cm9 / aokp compatibility post cincidad says he used that one to install cm9 and aokp. I believe they are both the same device. I will confirm by the end of the weekend. Please check back as I might also post a batch file to run that will log the information I need to confirm in more detail what Polaroid tablets will work. You can always familurize yourself with the livesuite instructions and just try that way you can go back to factory rom if it doesn't work.

After review of the livesuite firmwares these 3 Polaroid Tablets are compatible with this.

            Polaroid PMID702c, PMID703c, & PMID7Xc

If you have an issue with key mapping please let me know i have not had a chance to extract the system partitions yet to confirm that all three have the same key map, but have confirmed that all three Polaroid PMID702c, PMID703c, & PMID7Xc use the same boot and recovery partition and all of there partitions are the same size.

I have loaded the CM9 from [email protected] on to a Pmid703c and found the rom to be excellent. I have also loaded this Rom on to my device and found it to be excellent work but needs a bit of refinement when working with the Camera. I went back to the CM9 but rest assured I will be keeping an eye on this thread for updates and refinements.

Thank you [email protected] for your efforts on this and the CM9 rom

I can't not take any credit for the ROMs they are the works and talent of Christian Troy and the Allwinner Community. I only built the compatibility support for our devices, if you use any of these roms I encourage you if you can please donate to him even if its just five dollars, every little bit helps keep programmers like Christian Troy doing the work he keeps doing to make our devices so much better.

People who have 701 series devices please post a screen shot of you system information page as well as a print of lsmod command from terminal emulator I am working to have compatibility zips out for testing by Tuesday morning.

I picked up a AllWinner tab recently called the MOMO8. I have already learned how to take apart and mod the stock ROM and flash with livesuite so I am learning pretty fast.

I looked at the compatability file selection from the CM10 XDA post and they have a momo8a which is different than my momo8.

Any tips on how to put together a compatibility ZIP beofre I beat my head taking it apart to see what is needed?

                  Thanks,
                  Bob

                    Okay
1st off you will need allwinner A10 kitchen, search the forums or Google, this is to extract the boot, recovery, and system .fed files that you will rename to boot.img , recovery.img , system.img from the factory firmware.

2nd you will need xda's android kitchen, this is used to extract and repackaged the boot.img and to compress the compatibility zip for flashing. Again Google or search the forum if your uncomfortable using Linux Google android kitchencgywin installation I use this on a thumb drive so I can travel with it and work on them when I'm away from my Linux machines at home.

To hard to explain in detail over a phone keyboard I will do a write up this evening if you haven't got it figured out check back later for the write up.

                      I already have all that.
I have successfully taken apart boot image no problem!
As I said I have already created my own ROM. Customized boot.fex and system.fex. In fact I even moddied bootloader.fex for my own logo.

That was the easy part so far

I just installed the polaroid recovery and it doesnt completely work. I am very familiar with CWM since I have ported it to many RK29 and RK30 tablets.

So first step for me is to take apart stock recovery, take apart this polaroid recovery, and put the needed momo8 files from stock recovery into this recovery and see if I can get it working. Looks like I need to edit fstab as well since the polaroid recovery errored on mounting partitoins.
Or is there a better recovery I should start with? I know 6.0.1.0 is out. I used it recently.

Then I will work on CM10

                      Thanks for the tips.

OK, now I could use a little help.....

After trying the polaroid recovery and reflashing the stock ROM back WITH format in live suite, now the screen does not work?
I reflashed a couple times now. Still no screen....

                        Any ideas?

                        Thanks,

P.S. I am in a pickle too... ADB debugging is not enabled so I cannot get to it via ADB....

Look at the config000001.fex and config00000.fex one of them has the partition structure

Main files you need to edit are init.rc and init.device.rc mount information is handled through here as well as fstab all modules are handled through init.device.rc and need to be customize to your device if you want this to work with Troy's roms directory structure of files should follow my compatibility zip. Post your recover fstab from your factory recovery image for me.

Is this factory livesuite image or one you made? Are you sure live suite complete I've done it a few times and it didn't work because the device wasn't really in the off state, when I tried to livesuite. If your boot image or added boot stuff is to large it will get corrupted and not boot. Check if adb is up, what's the device showing as in windows device manager device I'd if you know there to find that under device information

I am using the stock ROM I downloaded from Momo.
Yes livesuite is working. It asks me to format and I say yes. ROM flashes and tablet boots fine. Just no touch screen now.

ADB is not enabled by default and since the screen is not working now, I cannot turn it on.
I just edited default.prop and added:
                              persist.service.adb.enable=1

Still no go, ADB is not on after flashing.

I think I need to ERASE ROM or something but without ADB I am stuck.
