    Pipo P9 RileyROM 1.3, 1.4 & 1.5 (RK3288)

All of my P9 ROM's are sponsored by Pipo and Pipomall.com. They graciously furnished me a P9 to develop and test for them.

v1.3 is based on an official Pipo firmware update dated 8/25/2014 (#126).
v1.4 is based on an official Pipo firmware update dated 8/26/2014 (#130).

I've tested these ROMs on my P9 and I've encountered no problems. The file name of the #126 update indicates it fixes some issues with WPS. The file name of the #130 update says they've improved battery charging detection.

Since this is a wifi only ROM, I've started experimenting with a handful of battery saving tweaks that are intended to eliminate 3G services from running in the background...which has always been a problem with these wifi only tablets getting a good deep sleep configuration.

With the stock launcher last night I broke 41200 on the Antutu benchmark and a 350 stability rating. The rating decreases with Apex Launcher.....but it's still pretty fast.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted with SuperSU
Debloated of unnecessary apps (There really aren't many to begin with)
    Busybox/init.d support added
Google Play Store fixes added to allow more apps to be compatible (it works)
Your choice of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12gb user app space by selecting the desired parameter file

    Download v1.3
    Download v1.4

Edit: At the request of some P1 users, I've started activating the Multi-User feature in these RK3288 ROM's. Here is v1.4.1 for the P9 with working Multi-User.

    Download v1.4.1

Here is version 1.5...based on firmware dated 9/11/14.

Download Wifi Version (now 1.5.1 with working TWRP)
    Download 3G Version
    (now 1.5.1 with working TWRP)

Abdul_pt has provided us with a TWRP recovery for the P9:

    Download

Just uncheck everything except the recovery line in the flash tool, browse to where you've downloaded this file, and flash it by itself. No need in erasing IDB.

Enjoy!!!!!! Don't forget to tip the developer...hahaha!!!!!!

I've edited this thread to include v1.4 if you want to try it. It contains the same changes from 1.3 with a reported fix to charging detection. Just see post #1.

Normally I start a new thread for each ROM, but since 1.3 didn't have any activity...I decided to keep the same thread going.

If you do have a comment concerning either of these two ROM's, please make sure you refer to which ROM you are currently using. That will be helpful in me being able to answer questions.

    Enjoy!!!!!

Does anyone else have one of these tablets yet? No feedback?

I'm working on v1.5...based on a newer firmware.

Still waiting on delivery of my P9 as well. I'll be sure to give your ROMs a good try. Your work was one of the main reasons for choosing a Pipo tablet.

Looks like I'm the only one outside of China with a P9, still.

That's OK...I will have most of the features ready to go when you all get yours.

                    Pipo P9

I got it yesterday. I installed Version 1.41. It runs with charme. Is it possible to create a multilangue (german) Version?

The default language is set to English, but you can go into settings and change the language to German.

So far the 1.4.1 is fine performance is slightly lower in antutu 5.0 but the only problem i have so far is the wifi not connecting to other networks. This is kind of annoying but other than that battery life of the tablet is slightly better starting to average about 8hrs screen on time with brightness on mid with heavy web/youtube/movie/facebook usage. THanks Riley really appreciate the effort and you really make these tablets worth more than they are. Keep up the good work.

We have something in store for that tablet, but this ROM won't work for it. Too much has changed between 3188 and 3288 architecture.
