Hi there. Thanks for all the great work you're putting in. I have just installed v1.4.1 on my P9 with no problems. It took me a couple of tries to get the parameter files right (noob!) but finally managed to resize to 6GB. Keep you posted.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the roms, i finally received my P9 from China (32GB WiFi only).
Already tried the OMA rom, which you can flash if you use the P9 kernel.
      Tommorrow i'm gonna try yours.

Do you know if PIPO gets OTA updates?

Received my P9 today as well, just trying it out with the stock Rom first.
Overall I'm not too impressed with the P9 so far to be honest. Only positives thus far appear the decent battery life and smooth user experience.

        The list of negatives is a lot longer;
        - Yellowish tint on the screen
        - Very slow charging (9 hours to get from 11 to 96%)
        - won't charge to 100%
        - Usb charging even slower
        - Won't charge switched off (it will boot up)
        - Low sounds level from speakers
        - Resonating back panel at higher volumes
        - Texture errors in Antutu 5.1 3D test
        - Real Racing 3 stopped responding when downloading game assets, had to force close and reboot to resume
        - Some garbled noise in Real Racing 3
        - Really garbled noise when casting screen
        - Back gets somewhat warm during RR3
        - Maximum SoC frequency 1608Mhz, not 1800
        - Loss of sound playback after rebooting

Well do some more testing over the weekend and see if a custom Rom can improve things.

I just received my P9, tomorrow I will flash it with your ROM .
One small question: Do you know which microSD formats the P9 supports? Does it support microSDHC (up to 32gb) and microSDXC (up to 64gb - 128gb)?

I've got mine P9 for 2 weeks now. So far no problem at all, haven't used it intensively, the last full battery charge lasted over 6 days until 20% remaining, with about 5 hours screen on time.

I'm running the RileyROM 1.4.1 with 2GB app space. In this configuration I could unfortunately not flash the TWRP recovery provided on the first post of this thread.

The only issue I see so far is a (I think) high wakelock number from android.net.ConnectivityService.action.PKT_CNT_SAM PLE_INTERVAL_ELAPSED
                  - about 5 per hour (SYNC off, Location Services off, Flightmode on, WLAN off); I did not find information on how to reduce this one.

The tablet did read my 64GB Transcend 300x microSDXC card (although getting it physically into the tablet is quite a tricky task; writing not tested).

Saturday I received my Pipo P9 :-). My experiences:
                    • The P9 has 2 bubbles on the screen (after removing the protector sheet). That's a little bit disappointing, but it works well
                    • The flashing proces was a little bit difficult because of my USB hub confiuration. The third (and last one) worked, the other ones couldn't start the tablet after switching
                    • Inside the manual (thanks for that!) the file name of the flashing tool is incorrect and therefore it took me some time before I knew I had to take 'Androidtool.exe'
                    • I cannot say anything about the battery, I just started playing yesterday
                    • One thing I noticed: the bar below in the screen (is that the navigation bar? It contains icons to go to the main screen, running app overview, etc) first had an arrow to hide the bar; after swiping upwards, it would come back. At a certain moment in time, the arrow disappeared and the bar could not be hidden anymore. What could be the cause of this?

Does this ROM (1.5) also has the Pre-Install enabled?

                    Thanks for the ROMs!
                    Regards, Ernst

It's the screen protector, you can just remove it. It also may interfere with the color of the screen. The quality of the screenprotecor is not that good.

I'm searching for an easy way to root this device...

I tried the 1.5 rom but i had some strange graphical glitches, like the battery overview in settings was distorted. Don't know if it was the rom or something else? I'm now back to stock and it's gone.

Well, in my case the screen protector is not removed that easily (at least I don't know how). How can I remove the screen protector without damaging the tablet? It is not the protecting sheet that has a paper labeled '2' on it, I removed that one already.

It's just a screenpotector like the ones you can apply yourself on your phone or tablet.
Just look where the bubbles are, it's probably not sticking very well there, you can try to remove it from there.
Look closely at the screen, the protector is very thin but it doesn't match the screen exactly, so if you can see the side of the protector just try to remove it with your nail.
edit: try it from one of the corners.

                          Edit:
                          I like that USB OTG
just did a speedtest with an ethernet adapter connected:

Anyone knows how to get into the bootloader to boot recovery?
ADB works, reboot into bootloader seems to work, but then the device is not recognized.
                          Fastboot devices: waiting for device....?

can't get the rom to flash

I would love to try Riley's rom on my P9 tablet, but I can't get it to flash. Probably because I am a newbie.

I first tried on windows 7. I managed to install the Rockusb drivers, although device manager sees two Rockusb devices instead of one (as in the tutorial). Also windows says it cannot start the Rockusb Device.

If I press switch on the AndroidTool it says one loader found, but if I press run to it fails when it tries to test. The tablet also goes off from usb mode & seems to be powered off.

Since I am not a daily windows user and noticed the TWRP image. I thought of flashing this image directly to the tablet with fastboot on linux. (I use ubuntu day-to-day) I have already have fastboot & adb working because I flashed my phone recently. I remember that I had to put the phone into fastboot mode to install a new kernel. I played a bit with the esc and power button and something seems to happen, but I can't get fastboot to recognise my device. Can I install Riley's rom this way?

I hope someone can point me in the right direction how to get this working, preferably on linux, but ofcourse I can try again with Windows as well...

There is a flash tool available for Linux, but I'm not that familiar with it. You might check Google for it.

Thanks for your fast reply Randy! But I want to flash this tablet and if Windows is more tried & tested I'll try that again. Any idea why that might not be working?
