How well will win 8.1 run with only 2gb of ram ?
Not very well I could see this struggling with certain tasks and also the old atom cpu couldn't play hd videos to well so let's hope that's fixed.
Laptops come with at least 6gb now
So this sounds under powered, unless they swap files from your sd card I think Windows calls it usb boost

I don't know how well Windows 8.1 will run with 2GB RAM but the Intel Atom chips I have used do a great job playing 1080p video. The Sony NSZ-GT1 runs an older modest Atom and plays Blu-ray and any other 1080p video, including streaming extremely well.
