Pipo P4 RileyROM 1.6 [RK3288]

    Pipo P4 RileyROM 1.6 [RK3288]

    This ROM is based on official Pipo firmware dated 9/1/14. Although I don't have a change log for this firmware, the file name indicated some changes in the battery system, so hopefully it will provide better battery consumption.

    I have noticed this firmware is odex'ed to provide faster app response....but it does make my life more difficult in making some modifications I was wanting to do...like providing multi-user support. I'm experimenting a little more with deodexing some files in order to customize the ROM a little more.

    This ROM has all of the usual RileyROM features:

    Rooted with SuperSU
    Deboated
    Init.d/Busybox support added
    Pre-Install added (can install apps automatically from external SD "autoinstall" folder)
    Reboot App by Petrus
    2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12gb user app space (by choosing the desired parameter file).

    This time we have both wifi and 3G versions.

    Abdul_pt has provided us with a TWRP recovery for the P4:

    Just uncheck everything except the recovery line in the flash tool, browse to where you've downloaded this file, and flash it by itself. No need in erasing IDB.

    Hi Randy,

    Thanks for 1.6, how do you know it's an original firmware? I didn't see it on the pipo forum yet.
    And did you also have the libril-rk29-dataonly.so file in this ROM or is that not necessary?

      I know it is official because I was able to download it from one of my Pipo download sources.

      The wifi version has the modified libril file. I left it out of the 3G version of the ROM because I'm not sure if it will cause 3G problems for those users.

        Alright thanks Randy, i will flash it on the p4 now and let you know tomorrow what the results are after 8 hours standby.

          I tried flashing but it failed, i got the message "RK3288Loader_uboot is not existed, stop running!"?

          The file is existing? But maybe it's broken or something? Can i also use the rk3288loader uboot from 1.5 rom?

            OK...just browse the loader line to the loader.bin file in the RileyROM folder. The P4 has a different loader file. I forgot to mention that.

            I cook the ROMs in Linux...and the flash tool runs in Windows. I'll try to remember to change the configuration next time.

              Alright, that worked. I also needed to do the same with the parameter file. After that it just flashed and i'm now running the 1.6 version. I update tomorrow.

                  Installing now Thank you for removing the advertising from the Boot logo. Could it be possible titanium backup doesn't backup to external_sd by default?

                  Google now launcher will not run again this time, did you change the CHMod of the libril file?

                            Old bug in the stock launcher. But it seems it has returned. Only solution is to take Nova, Apex, or some other launcher.

                              I am really stumped why Google Now launcher won't work. Do you think I can flash the google apps package? Their new launcher is included.
