Nice finding! But I think there is something else as well.
It have now been at the boot screen for 10 minutes.

Don't mind testing it at all, but will donate a bit for you efforts so you can choose if you'd like to buy a -2.

I'm using the 2 GB option.

OK next thing then. I did update busybox in system.img and maybe that will not work on JellyBean...

So I will make a new system.img for you to try.

OK here is a new system.img.

Once again unzip this and replace the system.img in the FinlessROM folder in the ROM kit.

I sure hope this works this time!

Hi,

Is it possible to upload the file somewere else?

Right now I don't get the whole file. It seems like after a while the senders/server stops sending the TCP PDUs to me and they just bounce TCP Keep-Alive until the server reset the TCP connection (=abort the transmission).

Otherwise I'll try and try again, maybe I'll get lucky...

(Regarding the transfer problem:
I could get up to ~100MB before the server stops sending data. The connection is however up for a while longer since the keep alive messages goes though in both directions (as well as icmp echo if I ping).

I've tried several times, but now I've setup a vpn tunnel to the US instead, but the transfer is then super slow)

hey bob is there anyway applying your "tweaks" without reflashing? i dont have a SD card so everytime i flash i loose all my apps ect.

the stock JB is working a treat also.

Bob: Sorry to have the bearer of bad news, but it's still a no go.
I.e. boot screen and nothing more when using the new system.img as well (I erased and used the default param 2GB setting (your latest file of course)).

OK so something I am doing that I have always done before up until JellyBean is not working.

900SuperSuport is helping me out to see what is screwing up in my build process. It might be some changes I am making to boot.img. System.img should be working.

More to come. Once I know, then expect a good release.

I cant freakin test this stuff so for me, it's like shooting in the dark! I sure hope the N101-1 gets JellyBean so I can learn to work with the new OS.

I've created a very basic rooted system.img (root and english) to use for testing. This should be transferred to the download area soon and i post some instructions for testing.

If we don't get root with this I'll create a simple boot.img as well and we can then try that.

I've flashed the system.img to my cube u30gt and have a working rooted cube, does have some bloat though .

As soon as we have root, then either I can debloat if you let me know what needs removing or Bob can take over and give you all the extra good stuff he provides.

If AussiePad ever releases a JellyBean ROM for my N101-1, then I will be able to figure out what I was doing wrong. I sure hope they do!

Here's a system.img

rename the original system.img from bob's rom kit and unzip the above download and place with the other images.

Now flash the ROM as you would for Bob's ROM ensuring you format the IDB.

On first start up you will go to clockwork as normal, press power to re-boot. The tab should now start up showing my cube u30gt animation (we need to know it's my system.img booting). If all goes well you should have a rooted JB tablet with English.

I'm not being ambitious with this image, merely concentrating on root, de-bloat can follow once we have root.

IT WORKS!!

I've just done a quick test run but I've checked that:
- Root OK
- Installed Titanium (so Wifi OK) via Play Store OK
- Titanium Batch Backup finished successfully

Details (high and low):
- In English
- Busybox 1.18.4
- I used Vista 64bit to flash
- Flashed without errors
- Used 2GB param setting, Bob latest file
- Had usb cable until initial boot screen was 'done' (shouldn't matter at all)
- 'About tablet' says 4.1.1
- Couldn't install Chrome (I guess due to current fingerprint)
"Your device isn't compatible with this version"
- It only took 1 min at the boot screen (with Blinking Android JB eyes & u30gt) before it was done
- Used 900supersports system.img + the latest from Bob (kernel+params+initial SW stuff)

Have to signoff now (sleep!), but Thank You both again!!!
(Love to test more tomorrow though!)

Edit:
- Saw now that Chrome (v18.0.1025123) is already installed, and working, funny error message then in Play Store.
- Both cameras OK
