I wish to purchase a couple of the N101 II units now that the Jelley Bean is alive, but I'd like to know what I am buying.
There might be a clone, but I haven't seen it. The N101 1 has two speakers, the N101 2 has one speaker.

Thanks Piers! That makes it easier as I was afraid there might be four different types instead of two.

There was a lot of speculation about this as some advertisers claimed to have a version 2 with fixes that solved the version 1 problems BUT they were showing pictures of the version 1. To date if there is a -2 that looks like a -1, we have not seen it show up.

The only known official N101 tablets from Yuandao are:

          N101
          N101 II
N101 II OEM (not yet widely released, it's a real f*ck up of hardware lol)

The N101 + or whatever you want to call it was just a different batch of N101 models.

I think it was the talk of the N101 II OEM that had me confused. In the next week or so I expect to buy a couple of N101 II units and didn't want to get the wrong one.

I am very new to this and have taken in a lot over the past few days until my readings started to become very blurry, especially with the release in recent days of new files for each type of unit. With both of your help, I have the unit types figured out now and by the time I receive the units, hopefully I will have learned the methods to backup the new units and flash the new builds and rooting to it.

              1. Powered off the tablet (by holding down the power button for a while)
              2. Make sure you don't have any power cable in the tablet
              2. Insert USB cable in tablet

              4. Hold down the + volume button on tablet
              5. Insert USB cable in PC and release + volume button when computer acknowlege the tablet
              6. Insert power cable in tablet
              7. Start the "Finless
ROM Flash Tool" from Bobs zip file. If it says "Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb", then you can continue with step 8. Otherwise try from 1 above (or look at the link 900 provided)
              8. Use the "Erase NAND (IDB) button in the "Finless ROM Flash Tool"
              9. Flash your desired ROM, using the "Flash ROM" button
Hi Magnus, thank you for your advice.
Meanwhile i got the recovery mode working (seems to be an driver issue, after deinstall and reinstall it works).
I copied all of the finless ROM files, replaced the files with the corrected ones and also copied
the system.img of 900 to the FinlessROM folder replacing the old one.
Started the ROM Flash Tool, did Erase NAND (IDB) (size shown 8192) and flashed the ROM.
              Everythings says it worked ok.
After automatic restart i again got stuck in Finless Boot screen ???
900 said there now should be his own animated boot screen.
I'm really shure i used his system.img and also the new parameter files and kernel.img
Later i tried to flash original image which seems to work to, but after flashing i got stuck at
              the chinese startlogo.
At the moment i do not now how to get on ..

On first boot after flashing did you get the clockwork recovery screen?

Yes clockwork recovery screen shows, then after rebooting Finless bootscreen stucks.

Can you put the tablet into flash mode and have it recognised by the flash tool?

                    If so
Download the original ROM kit and unpack to a new folder on your PC. Now work through each of bob's updates in turn updating the kit with any new .IMG files and parameter files.
Now before downloading my system.img delete any sytem.img files from this toolkit.
Download my system.img and add to the romkit in the same folder as the other img files. I cannot remember if its named system.img or if I extended the name to show it was my version. If its not system.IMG then rename as system.img and flash the ROM.

                    Good luck

                        Hi 900,
thank you for your support, but i did this exact the way you mentioned at least 3 times
Flash mode works and even if i try to flash the original ROM again, i got stuck at the chinese logo.
Maybe it's important, before i flashed Finless ROM i tried to downgrade the original JB to ICS.
After this downgrade i got my first freeze at the chinese logo.
Then i flashed the first version of Finless ROM and got a little bit further, freeze at the Finless Bootscreen.

Can you try flashing one of the official Jelly Bean firmwares from Yuandao using the RockBatchTool?

I tried flashing original JB firmware from Yuandao with Rockbatch Tool two times one time in restore one time in upgrade mode.
Same result, i got stuck at the chinese logo, the original N101 logo does not appear again.

So can you flash the original ICS 4.0.4 for the N101-2????
It's starting to sound like either yours is not a real -2, or some other reason for the ROM not booting like some hardware issue? The stock ROM for sure should boot if the hardware matches the ROM.

Do you have ADB setup so we can look at logcat during boot?

They send me a photo of the change (don't know how to show it here) with no N101 Logo on the back side ..
Has anyone got a "real" N101-2 from tabletpc-handyshop?
If no, i'll try to get my money back from Paypal.
