WIFI chip is AP6210, which should support bluetooth.(on my box neither wifi or bluetooth worked, probably defective, but I got partial refund from Aliexpress seller.)

Min. frequency should be 96 MHz I think.
Governor setting is hotplug.

Google play store didn’t work, but after rooting I’ve deleted the google apps & copied apps from gapps (downloaded from the net) priv-app folder to /system/priv-app. So finally Google Play store worked.
One other thing is that after you shutdown the box via remote you can’t turn it on(have to unplug & plug power adapter back), but this seems common with S802 boxes too.

Google play store didn’t work, but after rooting I’ve deleted the google apps & copied apps from gapps (downloaded from the net) priv-app folder to /system/priv-app. So finally Google Play store worked.

Can you describe exactly what you did to get Play Store to work? I tried renaming all of the Google apps in /system/priv-apps and putting in files I downloaded from gapps. Still no access to Play Store....

My Build Number (Settings/ About Phone) is KOT49H.201408020 test-keys

There is no option in settings for other build number.

I still would like to know exactly what you did to get it working...

Sorry - wifi works but I haven't tried bluetooth yet. I'll let you know when I get the chance to test it. I have asked the supplier to send me the firmware but don't hold your breath.

I have now tested Bluetooth and it is working. Also my MAC address is not changing - I have power cycled it a few times and it remains the same.

I still cannot get Play Store to work. It runs and then when I enter my existing username and password it always reports 'There was a problem communicating with Google servers. Please try again later'.

I have replaced the .apk's in the folder withthe apk's from your suggested download but all that happened then was I couldn't even open Play Store application. Any ideas?

My remote is black. CPU-Z almost identical to yours : http://valid.canardpc.com/a/mnxex6

I tried those apk's but same problem. I gave full permissions to every file but when I click on Google Store nothing happens. With the original apk's at least it opened.

Did you change anything else? Is there another apk I need in a different location? Do I need to uninstall Google Play Store first (how?). Do I need to run some of these new apk's?

This is starting to drive me crazy!

How about changing the firmware? I can find .img files but no way to load the new firmware. I guess the SD Card route is most likely given there is no mini usb for programming. Trouble is the update from SD card is looking for a .zip file. Guess more information will come as it's still a new model... At least I hope so!

If not, there is a lot more to adding Google Play Store to a device than the APKs!
You need files in:

You can usually find a update.zip package that installs everything. Many times these are posted for Cyanogen Mod because their ROMs are not allowed to contain the play store so users make these updates to add it.

First I've tried updating google apks, that didn't work, so I think I uninstalled google apks with Es File Explorer(of course you need root).One apk that remained is GoogleOneTimeInitializer.apk.

This was an EARLY problem with S802 and was fixed about 3 releases later. Seems the SDK from AML for S805 is old and does not have the fixes they added to S802. It was a permissions problem and a metadata (SELinux permissions problem).

I wish I could remember what I did to fix it in early ROMs but I do not recall now.

FYI also remember to set your date and time especially if your router does not do it for you! Time zone too. Google will not work if your time is way in the past.

Many thanks. That one solved the problem. I had to run each of the new apk's first, then reboot and I can use Play Store!

Now all I need to do is figure out how to change the location shown on the main screen (with weather)... It is set to shanghai regardless of the location set in Android Settings and in the 'Advanced' tab you can only change the Province (all Chinese).....
