I don't have a clone and finless 1.7 did work (though it just started to give problems, hence wanting to update to something else). I was just wondering whether there may be some issues with how you go backwards, so to speak.

I hate to beat a dead horse...but you have a power issue or your stick is bad. try underclocking it to see if it stops the freezing. Get set cpu or something like that and set max to 1.4

The problem is I have tried two different cables and about 5 power plugs, including ones that are about 2 amps. The box never froze with Finless 1.7, it just starting to get a bit unreliable - though if I rebooted it then tended to work.

In terms of changing the rom posted here, I literally can't click more than two times before it freezes so I can't download an app from the Play store and change the CPU speed.

I'll try to re-flash the Finless 2.1 later and hope for the best.

strange things happens with the sounds of my TV so i was investigating to find if it cames from the TV or the stick ... and i came to android settings and navigate to "sound" and each times it freeze until andoid says "settings doesn't answer..."

don't know what's happening with it, i can set sound by using the bottom bar but can't go in the setting (!)


Any idea ?

my sound issue:
when i watch a movie (usually with MXplayer but it could do it with other players) sounds is really bad when the sound in video is low (especially when people whispring or scene like that)
there is another sound like when we were using the tapes you know that sort or noise, maybe like wind.
this noise is present ONLY when caracters speak and stop at the same time
it's really annoying because you can't be accustomed to it.

if someone that understand what i'm saying can help^^

MK808B but after unsoldering the mass ot the wifi antenna everyting goes right
(and i resoder the antena because i lose half of the power !)

i would like to improve my wifi by adding an external antenna, the following tutorial explain how to do it but i really want to keep using your great rom... so do you think is's gonna be compatible or not ?

for information finless rom 1.7 works but not the 2.1
Minyx Hybrid 2.2.4 works too

I have no idea if the driver is in the kernel. Another option is to create a wireless bridge and use a USB to Ethernet adapter. If you have an original and do this change to the v5 ROM version 1.1. It is really fast.

i can't do that because mi wireless bridge is already at maximum distance from my wifi AP and i can't plug the MK808B directly in it. but that's an excellent idea ^^

i'm still looking for a way to use a wifi usb stick with rtl8192cu chip with you great rom
i could easily flash another rom but i doesn't want. this one is perfect for me.

i find this https://github.com/ninjablocks/rtl8192cu

maybe it possible to use it to make it work... any idea ?

Describe your network in detail maybe I can come up with a solution or try a different WiFi adapter

all of them with static ip

i can buy any model wifi stick if it s compatible with your kernel Nevertheless if could be with the "N" version of wifi and with a big external antenna I ll appreciate

Dude i would try and bring your stick to a store that sells various ones and test on site. I didn't compile the kernel.

I just tried on my MK808 - RK901, it was previously running Finless BOB ROM 2.1 - Freakstar.

It flashed ok, but booting up stops on the moving firefly lights.
I tried reflashing using the 1080kernel as well, same thing, just sits on the splash screen.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? failing that - anyone have a link to a stock image please?
