    Talk 9X U65GT grainy screen?

Just got my Talk 9X and I notice the display is a bit grainy on bright colors. Is it the same with everybody else?

It's very hard to capture with a camera. Here's the closest picture that I can make:

    Hello,
I know what you talking about... about little grainy dots under the glass screen. It looks like bad quality screen protector or little dirty screen.
i talk with my supplier it - he said that in every cube tablet is that occurence. that is screen typical in cube and few other chinesse tabs...
some people see that 'problem" and other people do not pay fully attention to it...

i think this tablet is great imo. very nice looking, very fast, very good battery, great wifi, great 3g... only this little grainy screen...
but i think that for me better is little dirt and high resolution than low res and clean lcd...

cube generally has more advantages than disadvantages ... i think i will learn to live with little "dirty, grainy, crystall effect"...

what you will do with your cube ? can you live with little crystall effect ?

It's already on the way back to the supplier. I love the tablet feel and quality but the screen is a very important factor for me. I really tried to get used to it but it just didn't do it for me. If it's like this for every tablet then I find it quite ridiculous that some people actually saying that it's on the same level as an iPad air screen. I have an ipad air and the screen is crystal clear. Night and day different.

My Talk 9X arrived today and it has the same issue. Due to the grainy structure the display quality is very low, definitely not what I expected from a screen with such good specifications.

It looks a bit as if there's another screen protector between the glass and the display. Has anyone with a grainy display ever opened the tablet to test this theory?

Dead pixels on Talk 9X U65GT screen

          Hello all,
I am an Cube U65GT 32GB owner. I am not satisfied from this tablet.
My screen is grainy and further more I have noticed some dead pixels on it. There are 5 in a group low below where is the command line and 2 more in the center of the screen. They are always black regardless of the color of the display.
I attach some pictures to see it. Is there somebody with same problem ?

            Hi!

I received my cube yesterday and I am noticing that grainy effect too.. It really looks like if there was a remaining screen protector or dirt under the screen.. Anyone of you solved this problem? Or did you send it back?

It's really annoying because I bought it for browsing and reading and with white pages it really disturbs... Could anyone compare his grainy screen to another got one?
I bought mine at geek buying and you?

              Grainy screen issue - Confirmed!

The grainy screen issue is real! It is caused by poor quality of inner film! All tablets doesn't suffer from this issue. Here is pictures of the inner film:

You can find more pictures from this (4pda.ru) thead.

Cube Talk 9X tablets produced before 1426 (14=year, 26=week) use OGS screens (like iPads). This is why you can't upgrade (atleast so far) tablets produced before 1426 to V2.0 firmware. These tablets doesn't suffer grainy screen issue because in the OGS screen there is no inner film (the screen glass is closed to screen panel).

Tablets produced 1426 or after use different IGZO screen. There is a cap and inner film between screen glass and screen panel. (It is cheaper to produce and repair. That is why Cube changed the screen to IGZO). Because of that the color of tablet screen in IGZO is different to the OGS tablet when the screen is off. OGS is black and IGZO is gray.
              Here is pictures:

IGZO screen doesn't mean automatic that you have grainy screen. You can see grainy screen effect only if the inner film is poor quality or it is inserted poorly. I think you should be able to change grainy screen tablet to new one!

Some users have however removed the inner film by themselves. Here are instruction in russian language (4pda.ru) and you can find pictures from here (4pda.ru, 4pda.ru, 4pda.ru). You need to click the bar to open pictures. (There is also guide in freaktab how to open Cube Talk 9X). I do not recommend to remove the inner film because it is risky. Also it is supposed to be there to protect screen from light reflection for example.

Here is comparison of grainy IGZO Cube and OGS iPad:

Thanks for all the info on this. I'm getting the T9 for Christmas my girlfriend asked me to give it the once over to check it worked OK. It looks like a nice tablet but it has the same grainy screen issue as this 9X. I'll have to wait to sort it out until next week, but I'm going to have a go at removing the film, hopefully that will do the trick.

Booshman, did you get the T9?

If yes what is your report concerning this screen issue?

I am interested in getting this tablet but if there are issues with the screen I will have to look elsewhere.

                  Thanks.

Yeah I got it and the screen is a bit grainy. It's not terrible but it is noticeable if you are looking for it. There are some reporting that theirs have no issues. I am currently waiting to hear back from Cube about what they can do about this for me.

A few folks have their T9's in hand and talking about them here:

My question is if i remove the film, can i have other problem after like some spot du to the air, or humiddity?

I think i m going to find a shop where they repairs tab or smartphone to open the Cube tab and ask them to remove the matt screen on lcd.

Does somebody remove matt film ? if yes did you see some spot apears after you removed screen?

                        thanks

Since I had the film removed, the picture has been great. No issues at all. I took it off by removing the front, but others have done it by going in through the back, which looks like the best way to do it.

You can find details in the T9 mod thread:

                              hi guys,

i remove the film yesterday by the front, i used an hair dryer to open the tab, if you do it slowly you don't have problem.

you heat with the hair dryer a few seconde and after you insert card or what you use slowly.
when you close the tab you heat again and push slowly on the side, this glue is a glue that react at the temperature, if you heat again and let cooling after closing the tab you don't have problem.

Now i have a really good tablet with a good screen, next is to backup my imei and install a custom rom.

Just take your time, don't be affraid, and do it slowly.

By the past i have changed a screen on a nexus 5 it is more complicated than on this tab. To do it i used an hair dryer, around 10 card like credit card and to open the first place at the bottom of the tab and around the tab i used a medicine package (the grey part) http://www.numeripharm.com/ori-dolip...s-secs-879.jpg

thanks you freaktab and thank russian guy (4pda.ru)
