    Pipo P4 RileyROM 1.9

These ROM's are based on official Pipo firmware. 3G version #640 dated 9/15/14 and wifi version #613 dated 9/10/14. I had a 1.8 version somewhere...but I failed to post it...so that explains the skip in the numbers.

These ROM's reflect more changes in the charging systems. I'm not sure about battery drain fixes.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted Clockworkmod Superuser
    Deboated
    English default (full language support)
Google Play Store fixes added to allow more compatible apps
    Init.d/Busybox support added
Pre-Install added (can install apps automatically from external SD "autoinstall" folder)
    Reboot App by Petrus
2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12gb user app space (by choosing the desired parameter file).
    TWRP Recovery by Abdul_pt
Multi-user support added with changes in framework.jar to activate it.

Hi Randy, I was using 1.7 and I had switched to ART runtime. I did a backup of the data partition in TWRP then I flashed 1.9 and flashed TWRP recovery and restored my data partition but when I tried to boot it hung on the boot animation. So I flashed 1.9 again and re-downloaded my apps from the play store, then I tried to switch back to ART and it hung again on the boot animation so now I've flashed back 1.7 ROM and restored my data partition and got all my apps and original settings back. It seems that 1.7 is compatible with ART but 1.9 not which is why I couldn't use my data backup.

Thanks for the update. I'm not sure I have a solution for that. It appears that ART causes problems...but you would think that since this is Android 4.4.4 it would work properly. I haven't played around much with ART because it's been unreliable.

OK, thanks. For now I switched back to Dalvik on 1.7 and made another backup of the data partition, then upgraded to 1.9 and restored my data and it's working fine but will do some more testing.

All running smooth on 1.9 after a couple of days use. I think I can see some improvement in battery monitoring, the discharge curve looks smoother with no funny spikes or dips and so far got 7 hours screen on time with 20% battery remaining, high is excellent.

                Can't boot into recovery

Just updated to 1.9 and it seems good so far. However, I'm struggling to get into recovery to do a backup. I used the Reboot app and selected "Reboot to Recovery," but it brings me to a picture of an android on his back with a red triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. I thought that CWM was installed automatically with the rom. What am I doing wrong?

Unfortunately, the auto install feature for recovery doesn't work on these 3288 ROM's yet.

You need to install TWRP (included in the RileyROM folder) manually.

Just uncheck all items in the flash tool, put the tablet in flash mode, browse the flash tool to the TWRP file and flash without erasing IDB.

just tick resource, kernel, boot, system if you update version then you never lost your data........if you tick all system will reformat and you need install/restore one by one

art runtime still dont work with 1.7 version after change you will reboot but after reboot still dalvik not art runtime, with 1.9 after change you will go to loop (bootloop)

I followed Randy's values (many thanks to Randy and Arika) and was able to successfully to the Nexus 10. The values are in post 128 of the RileyRom 1.7 thread, but since I did this on my tablet with the 1.9 rom, I thought I'd discuss in this thread. It's super easy using Buildprop Editor.

                          Re: Pipo P4 RileyROM 1.9

Running this ROM for two days now. Battery monitoring seems weird, maybe it's just my device what is misbehaving.

Worked perfectly, thanks Randy. On day 2 with 1.9 rom and the P4 is working wonderfully. Haven't found any problems so far.

I've been using the SendAnywhere app to transfer files between my P4 and my smartphone. I believe this uses your wifi network, rather than wifi direct, but it works well (as long as you're on a wifi network).
