    @al8782

    Let's start you off from a clean slate.

    1. Download this file and unzip it to an empty SD card. (Never mind if the file seems to duplicate what you have, we need to be absolutely sure you are working with the right build).

    You should end up with only 2 files on the SD card.

    2. Get your box into 720p mode by installing any Finless rom and selecting 720p video mode from Settings. Leave the box in that mode.

    3. Follow the installation steps I outlined in my original post. Use the SD card prepared in 1 above (it should have just 2 files) and select the zip file on there.

    Good luck, this should work for you unless your box came from Mars.

                  Yes. But depending on your box or remote you may need to tinker with it.

                    Thanks my box is the early one with the rounded remote M8/9 V0.92.If this works as well as codesnake's openelec on my mx2 box i will be well pleased,at one point i thought this m8 box would end up in the dustbin.

                      Get it out of the dustbin. With OpenElec, it'll knock the spots off all other boxes in its class.

                      Once you're up and running, add my remote config file. It should work well with your old round remote, and make it usable.

                      My previous posts about this are #37 and #51.

                        I still need to perform surgery on my m8 to see exactly what is inside. Your remote file didn't work for me but it is a rounded remote :/

                          i had a look at the config file zahir i got find not found at mega.

                              Yes, that's odd. It works well for me, Trebor and some others here. I think JustMe also tested it ok.

                              I figure Snelsy will need to try it: as others have found, his round remote is unlikely to work with the config that comes with the rom. But let's see, maybe it won't be necessary.

                                It is very odd. I do know though that I have 2 m8s, the remotes look identical but NOT interchangeable. BUT Finless work with no issues on both boxes. It recognises the remote on both.
