BTW, the main reason I wanted to upgrade my M8 box is because e want to have H265 HW decoding, but apparently this is not possible. Is that correct or am I doing something wrong? To be honest, I've never tried to read H265 in android environment...

I've tried LibreELEC today and it's the same non working situation, although with different visual problem. Plus, power off and my remote didn't work (two known problems, which are already solved in these, much older, codesnake releases).

He seems to be MIA at the moment. If you want a Jarvis build that would be easy enough to install, Nemsis's build is the way to go. Drop his file in the update folder, reboot your box, and you're good to go.

    Evening all.

Currently using Codesnake 6.0.3 on mx2. Are there plans on Codesnake releasing a kodi Jarvis build? Regards.

Hi everyone! I just decided to update to openelec 6.0.3, which worked, but was bothered by the icons not updating. I went further and dropped Nemsis's .tar file, and it installed no problem. I don't know if this will be a problem if you use wifi. I have mine hardwired, and so far so good. Currently working, crossing fingers.

Hi I have a bricked M8 ver 8.9 20151031.I have tried to reburn using amlogic usb tool. I have no problem getting success connect but it hangs and restarts at i% with the following code logged in red type.
    [0x10105002]Romcode/initialize DDR/Read initialize status/USB/C....
Has anyone successfully recovered this box from a soft brick and what software did you burn. I want to install Openelec on this box as the original software is total crap. Thanks in advance

Thanks codesnake for a great build. My gbox has been running great since I upgraded to OpenELEC. I just had one issue with installing it, for some reason whenever I was trying to flash it onto my box it was keeping getting stuck on the logo screen. I wasn't sure why since I was doing a fresh install but I was able to fix it by making changes to the "factory_update_param.aml" file.

    I added these lines:
    --show_text
    --wipe_data
    --wipe_system
    --wipe_cache
    --update_package=/sdcard/OpenELEC-Amlogic.MX2.arm-6.0.3-update.zip

This way I was able to wipe any old data and cache and afterwards it installed fine. Figured other people might find it useful too.
