Yes the firmwares been downloaded as per the link given and i have been using both these machines for more than 3 months with this Openelec versions. Apparently its just not the openelec settings addon, i have realised that other addons are not working as well and this has been reported earlier as well on openelec.tv forum by many users. May i please ask you have you tried clicking on Openelec settings a few times and you dont see a problem. Also what version have you got installed on your machine.

It could be addon or script that might be conflicting as well not sure but would you have any idea how can this be fixed or something? This thing started all of sudden as of yesterday and I did not make any changes in last couple of days (addition or deletion of addons)

If you have the video add-on installed ISRAEL LIVE uninstall it. They put out an update that has a bug that is causing all your problems. I was pulling my hair out for over 12 hours trying to figure this out.

It prevents you to open up. OpenELECs Config and all other addons show up blank.

You need to make your you have no internet access going to the box. If you use wifi, unplug your router. Because it'll make it harder to uninstall if connects to the Internet. If you use hardwired just disconnect it.

Yesterday there was alot of chatter on Facebook kodi groups about an update to israel live tv was causing problems don't know how true this is as i dont have that add on if you have it maybe worth uninstallimg and rebooting to see if that helps

Presuming you downloaded from the links in the first post of this thread are you sure you downloaded the correct images for the boxes you mention, as I am running on an M8 with no issues

I've installed Openelec with Kodi (tested on version 4.97 and 6.0.0) and afterwards I can't open OE settings anymore (either it wont open or it will take more than 10 minutes to open) and i have tried this on multiple machines as 2 of my MX2 and 1 of my cousin's M8 is having the same issue. I Want to change my network settings but I can't open the openelec Settings Addon. If i click the OpenELEC link under "System", or in "Programs" i hear the click but nothing happens. And if I try to right click and on it and run configure, it sends me a message "This add-on can't be configured"

Can some one please help me..

Hi ! I see that it's very cool because I want later to buy a Tuner dvb-t usb 2.0 to connect Tv French Tnt an i know it's possible with openelec ?
But I have a question you know if it possible also weTec Play to make a sd card of openelec and boot openelec in the sd card and don't remove Android kitkat in my m8 Android Tv box?
I love this box it run good ;-) I have just some mistake with some App (Mytf1) don't run in the box ? The App run good but when I want to play a video ! This run under a black screen ? I don't no why do this ?

I am working on a MXQ S805 AMLOGIC box that has DVB-S2. It is called the K1. The DVB chipset is AVL6211/AV2012. I tried codesnake version for MXQ and it works great except for DVB which is not recognized at all. I saw that there is support for avl6211 in the MX port (in the meson6 configuration), but I really don't know how to install this driver in the MXQ port (in the meson8b configuration).

Any idea ?

I'm only reading this now and I'm not near my M8 to test it.
Will test as soon as possible but I had various situations by now: most of the times I get the resolution I want but many times it reverts back to 720p60 (with greyed out options). I don't want to verify this every time I turn on my M8...

So, anyone, is there a way to force 1080p50 (is my responsibility to have a monitor/TV/projector capable of that, my OpenElec just sets this resolution - every time)?

Anybody have wifi trouble on a MX II it wont connect says failed ..see's the connection ...will roll back to 6.0 at this point

This is the first time I work with OpenElec after my (extremely positive) time with it in Raspberry Pi, and my first time with an android box.

Is too soon to emit a valid opinion but the installation process works without glitches, so did my first few minutes with it.

My two questions, for now are:
1. How to force a specific screen resolution (I’m getting 720p, need 1080p)?
2. How did it work for you when skipping (step back or forward with cursor keys)? Did your TV loses image temporarily or image always stay 'alive'*?

With this M8 box, using android KODI 15.2, forcing 1080p60 all the time (menus and video), my projector keeps image all the time and jumps are instantaneous when skipping (both video and audio).
With my Tronsmart MXIII+, using KODI 16beta (all versions I tried), I had to force 1080p50 to get that behavior. With *1080p60* (which gives me smoother overall video image), this box jumps well with audio but the image only appears after e few seconds (I believe it has something to do with video synchronization or fast video mode switching in background).
With this OpenElec, my M8 does the same in 720p as my Tronsmart MXIII+ but, again, I need a few more tests and configuration verifications to be sure.
