My M8HD showed up last night and I flashed this new ROM.

I took Stevejc's firmware and added:

          Autoinstall
          Boot Animation by Tatty
Branded Kernels (yes, all of them) with Tatty's logo above
          Busybox
          Koushik's Superuser
Added things to the ROM kit I've always added
Added TWRP recovery to install after first boot
          Google Play Store fixes
          Some Build Prop Tweaks
          Added Multi-user Support
Added a bunch of parameter files
Added the First Time User's Guide

          Download

Be sure to flash the loader.bin if you are coming from a JB ROM (it's checked by default).

On first boot, recovery will stay on the boot screen for a while...and you may notice the rear LED come on. Just be patient for a few minutes and let stock recovery do it's thing. After the partitions are formatted, the tablet will boot to system...again be patient on the first boot.

So far everything I've tested works great. I got a 24400 Antutu score with no additional apps installed and running the default launcher.

If anyone else wants to test it...have at it. And please report any tweaks that need to be made.

            New Kernel

            Hi

Nobody has tested it yet ?

So I have made new kernel for M8HD.

I have added some governors to kernel .

for example you will have the hotplug governor that can turn off some core of CPU when not needed.

            Improve Battery life

To use it you will need some apps like Kernel Tuner or No-frills CPU Control.

You have to change default governor (interactive) to hotplug.

If you do the opposite, be careful because if some core are offlines with hotplug governor, they will stay offline !
To Wake up use the app Kernel Tuner that can make it :

Steve, I'm working on those settings modifications today and will be flashing my M8HD several times...so I will use your new kernel to test. Wish me luck getting those apk's to boot.

I have just downloaded and flashed the new firmware to test the 3G on my pipo m8hd and i get a few random week signel on grps but after 10 minutes i got 3g connection for while and lost all conections

I have not tried anything else on the ROM due to not having a working digitizer panel and I was using
someone eles a wireless keyboard and i had to give it back

USB sound card, behind a hub

                  Hi guys,
Could you, m8hd owners, please check that USB audio out still runs OK when a (powered usb) hub is used between the otg cable and the external USB soundcard ?
It is because I cannot get USB audio out to work in that config (on my m7pro),
Soundcard is powered but the sound still come out of the internal speakers...
                  Tks in advance

No problem for me, even with no power on USB hub. (with new kernel)

I have bought Sound About app don't know if it matters

hope we can have soon a working kernel on M7pro

I have also enabled USB hub support in kernel too

                      Flashed this ROM with kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr667.img.

Good performance, all seems good, interface works smooth. But in-game fps seems lower than in a JellyBean ROMs. This causes bigger latency on touches (only in-game).

I'll use it for longer tme to say a more...

really don't know. But i think of new scroll bar in kitkat which has special mode to be hidden and visible during the game which is compaitable with it. And this is not only in games. As i see, on the tables in the launcher scrolling the bar seems a little bit laggy, but in ES explorer, where it is without shadow, it is very smooth.
