Anyone can try this mod since my ROM is rooted! This is a simple edit of a text config file:
2) To disable CPU rendering the ONLY things to do are:
- with a file manager with root access go to system/lib/eg
- open the file egl.cfg. DELETE everything inside the file but keep this line: 0 1 adreno200
- rename libGLES_android.so from egl folder. Don't delete it so if there is an issue with your ROM you can revert back to this file.
- REBOOT

I do not have to make a ROM for someone to try this.

you will see performance increased in Antutu benchmark !!!!

Looks like I will make a BETA 3 ROm with this change but I would like to know about the others. Leave in? or take out?

Bob, it's working. Just tried with MK808 and Your 1.4 firmware: Youtube (HD), AVI, MKV (SD tested) in perfect sync!

I done this with root explorer:

- edited system/lib/egl/egl.cfg
- keeped the "0 1 mali" line
- renamed libeGLES_android.so to *.bak
- rebooted

Only problem left is with this thing is 1 GHz fixed clock, and 1024 x resolution.

Checkin' with my UG802 too, just a few minutes.

A warning to the adventurous on editing lib files.
I tried the suggested lib edit mod and it put my system in boot loop.

This is what I tried and it failed...

- correct file to edit is: system/lib/egl/egl.cfg
- remove all lines and keep the fallowing...
- corret line to keep it is: 0 1 mali

Ok Bob, with your original and unmodified UG802 1.4 firmware the hack don't working, video is out of sync. I would try another settings step by step...

I tried this mod/method with the original stock firmware. No improvement.
Looks like Bobs v1.5 is where we are seeing the A/V issue with the most improvement.

Bob, any way the quick fix edit the screen size before the final version.
The bleed over is cutting off some root explorer code information.

No luck with the original 1.4 fw and UG802. Maybe it's ICS-related too, the MK808 is JB... and now in sync.

I am working on some of these bugs. Some are easy others I have not cracked yet and the screen res is one of them!
