If you are interested on a possible cube dual system tablet the one for you is cube T6. I love a LOT more the T9. T6 is another average tablet with nothing special, as all others intel based chinese tablets now on the market.

New Intel Core-M tablets will bring to us a new revolution in tablet performance with a high probability of dual boot android/windows 8.1 AND performance range NEVER seen on tablet (same performance of a Core i-5 but with only 4W of power consumption). The bad thing is that these chips will be very expensive, so I suppose that chinese brands will integrate Core-M chips too late...
Thanks for a good rundown. Your impressions are probably spot on. Still ...an excellent review like the one on the T7 over at Tablet Republic I mentioned would be great.

Now to your last point above. Yes, I know that MTK will not do Windows, but I do see coming very quickly a deluge of Win 8.1 tablets coming to market next year.

With what Cube did with the T7; plus the alliance announcement of Cube; Intel and MS coming in January ...I would bet (if I was a betting man) that the T9 with MTK could easily morph into a T9x with 8.1.

Speculation, mind you! Still ...looks promising to me!

    Edit to add this.
The reasons you gave earlier in this thread ...giouncino, are very valid for the newer MTK SOC. If Cube did employ Intel in some new T9 tabs, they would also have the ability to handle flash easily, plus they should be more business oriented.

Kinda sounds appealing! And that, my friend - is what has me hesitating!

And to continue just a bit regarding the possibility of Cube using more Intel ..the Intel SOC of choice for now ...Bay Trail-T Z3736F, looks to be less power than this latest MTK M8752V ...at least from the benchmarks I see. Still powerful, but not as strong as the MTK part.

Just something else for me to consider ...agonize over!

        Don't agonize that much,
intel Z37xx are good SoC (performance in the range of RK3288, only a little bit better than MT8392) but with some bad points:
        - high battery drain (on cube i6 with a intel Z37xx and 9.7" battery life doesn't go over 6h, it's unacceptable for a new tablet in my opinion)

        - app compatibility problems, all intel x86 chip on Android are incompatible with many apps

        - lack of 4G support

Lack of flash support on android is not a big issue, all internet sites are (slowly) switching on HTML5, I think that in the near future this will be no more a problem!

That's why I can tell you:
don't wait for core-M: they will cost too much for some years (unfortunately), and MT8752 is good and already on the market. If you like it, buy that tablet! I'm sure it is a good deal now, one of the best on the chinese market, with a reasonable price (200-210€ for a cube T9 32Gb, is good, and now is only 10-15€ more than a cube talk 9x 32Gb that I still consider an EXCELLENT product, I own a cube talk 9x 16Gb paid 160€ and like it soo much!).

          You have almost convinced me.
The T9, case & DHL shipping come up to 292 & some change! All in the cart at Aliexpress.
Never even considered spending this much for a tab from China.
Gotta sleep on this a day at least!

          Edit.
You mentioned this. Did not even know the option was there.

And I get 6 months on Paypal.
MM also has the black 9X for 203.00
Wow! That has to be THE bargain tablet on the internet! And DHL at that price!

I have not seen this come down any, and it looks to be the very best price on a T9 that is out there.

Can we expect any help on price during Boxing Week?

Trying to decide between this and the Talk 9X at Merimobiles for $226.00

            Thanks

I have bought this tablet from geekbuying.com. It costs there 259 USD there, but with code RLRBNUOT you've got 6% discout which is somewhere around 245 USD.

I just bought the T9 from Geekbuying. They got some good reports.

$257.27 with DHL, some adding shipping insurance ..and 6 months to pay with Paypal.

I was about to go with Aliexpress, but would not get the 6 months.

Thanks very much for the link.

                    New adventure ...here I come!

Well I got my Cube t9 a week ago

It replaces a Pipo m9 Pro

WOW, how good is this, the PIPO was great

The cube is night and day better

The only complaint is the Rom, are there any custom ones that remove all the chinese apps and or do we yet have Android Lollypop for it?

                      Cheers all

Also in addition to asking for new roms I wanted to answer these questions

Wi-Fi performance? No issues, the indicator suggests that I only have one bar in the bedroom, however the streaming performance of a HD movie suggests otherwise..

4G - what benefits? Is it related to videos? Faster download speeds but im yet to check this out in the UK

Speaker. Is it loud enough for YouTube video and other simple things? Headphones are always better for music and movies. No issues at all, me and my wife have watched the interview on it on bed, so while not a noisey environment, the watching of Youtube stuff during the day in a noisey house was more than acceptable

Quality of retina screen (grain or no grain). NONE at all, although I understand that my screen might not be the same as others

Bloatware? (less being better) Too much, hence me asking for custom roms

Brightness of screen? Its BRIGHT and much more crisp than my PIPO, however I cant say too much regards direct sunlight owing to the health at home being rubbish before I left for the Holidays

Battery life? I have gone for around 5 hours screen on time and just under 50% battery was remaining VERY impressive

Camera? 13 Mp. sounds fantastic. Is it? NOP it's rubbish, its a tablet, its not that important but it 13mp was a selling point and TBH I feel annoyed a little.

Test done : the score is only 233 000...

                            I guess it's bad!

PS : Towelroot nor root this ROM no more...I asked for the CUBE support to have the way to root but they probably won't answer.

I still test my tablet and if 4G is activated fine with my frenc SIM (Operator : FREE), the connection fails...even in 3G. Do not know why, i search and test a lot sucessless...

Édit : a new update V 1.03 of the ROM is available by download. I've just installed it but i do not know which improvements were made.

Have you ever opened a Pipo?
I repaired many, they are ABSOLUTELY rubbish!

All of them have P+P (cheap plastic) display, cube uses G+G (glass), Pipo internally is kept together by tape, not the case of cube. Pipo antennas are cheap, bad built and bad soldered on the mainboard...To sum up, I'm impressed that Pipo tablets can boot up!!!!

Pipo M6pro is one of the worst tablet I've used...(the new P1 is on same level...)

As an administrator of Pipo Italian community I do not recommend to buy pipo to anyone.
You now have the proof in comparison with your new cube!
