I am a total newbie at ROM flashing and ROM recovery.

I am very confused?!?! I have a Cube Talk 9X SN: B1447XXXXXXX. It has the latest firmware v2.0 dated April 8, 2015. I would like to ROOT my Cube with the latest custom ROM and add app storage space. However, my investigation has got me scared. I can't find anything newer than January and everything is tell me to back everything up, especially the IMEI. I have looked for ways to backup the IMEI and they say you need to root the tab to use the app. But if I root the tab I may and most likely will lose the IMEI.

So, my question is, what is the best way to backup the IMEI and what is the latest Custom ROM that will let me enlarge my app storage space?

OK... Having a real problem. I have done the Backup using MTK Droid Root & Tools v2.5.3. I have not had any errors. However, when I prepare blocks for Flash Tool, I get the following message: --- Preparation of files for FlashTool is impossible, file isn't found : C:\Users\Sean\Desktop\CubeTalkx9_ROM_KIT_V1\CubeTa lkx9_ROM_KIT_V1\3 - MTK Droid tools - Backup ROM and Scatter\backups\U65GT_150408_backup_150523-192115\MT65??_Android_scatter*.txt
I have tried doing the backup over and over... and yet when I prepare blocks for Flash Tool, I get the same message (new folder name). I have tried deleting the folders to start from fresh, but, I still get the file isn't found message.

In the zip I have provided a scatter file it is in the the flash folder . Copy and paste that file into the backup location . And try to create blocks to flash . Make sure nothing errors when doing this .

So far so good. I got through it all but, still need to play with it. It looks like Titanium did not do a real good job of restoring, however, this is not a real problem. I am in the process of re-installing the apps that did not get restored properly.
Thanks for all your help and Thanks to lepi for his ROM... A donation will be forthcoming.
                        Thanks again!
