Anyone working on firmware for the Eny M8S Amlogic S812 square box?

Upon further inspection it seems that my M8S has the bcm4335 chipset and it doesn't go into recovery mode at all and build number is: M8S.BCM4335.201510211506

Kernel version is 3.10.33 ubuntu@google-server #1 Wed Oct 21 10:28:09 CST 2015.

However, on Aliexpress, under description they stated that the wifi chip was AP6330 however, these boxes all have the newer wifi chip BCM4335, stock rom is not bad other than the auto HDMI not being able to turn off. It does turn off however, the chosen resolution doesn't stick after a reboot or replug, you have to select it again from display settings.

The chip where the wifi chip usually is, has this written on it: KM3208070 and then XJ-A. Is this the new Broadcom chip? Shouldn't it say 4335? Clone chip?

not true. i have two of these boxes and neither went into recovery when i first got them, but one now goes into recovery and one does not. i am not sure exactly how i got the one to go into recovery, but i think it has something to do with recovery not being mounted. i even looked in the mount file and the recovery and bootloader are not in there but they do come up in terminal, but they are not mounted. i am 100% sure sure that recovery and bootloader modes work they just need to be properly told where the mount point is.

Justme can u help please I install the fw for the m8s+ 5.1.1 on my m8s everything work but the remote and the ethernet doesn't work how I can fix I can copy the drives from other fw ?? Please help

Just got my m8s yesterday the mediabox description says bcm4335 so they must have migrated that wifi chipset to the m8s as well

I think you probably got the same one I got, however, do open it up an check if the wifi chipset is actually 4335 or is it like mine where the chipset is KM3208070.

ok hmm have you tried to ask your seller for firmware due to this issue I mean I can help you by posting few remote configurations but if your seller can supply you with stock rom it would be easier than guessing remote configurations
