Thank you very much ! Where I said chrome I meant any other web browser, I used for a long time an Atom N455 with 1 GB of RAM and I know what it's (un) capable of. I'm still using it with Arch linux, i3-wm and dwb as browser. I'm not that interested about windows looking nice, but about their contents running smoothly. I don't need an Aero... The first thing I do is lowering the desktop effects.

Sorry about so many questions, I'm quite doubtful ...

Why bother with dual boot one if you are gonna wipe the Android? The single boot Windows one is the Suntek and has just one BIOS but the Artway one with dual boot has poorer BIOS options if I follow other posters explanations. The matter is confused as both look the same externally but the dual boot ones are Artways. Chrome is not light on memory. 2Gb is your limit. Many tablet owners say IE is better for them on 2Gb. Can't comment on your other MANY questions - don't own one right now. Sold the Suntek one and Artway one.. getting the 64Gb model

    Hello everyone!

I am thinking about buying this small TV box, and after having a look at some reviews/benchmarks ( http://www.cnx-software.com/wp-conte...onsumption.png ,
http://www.cnx-software.com/2015/04/...tel-w8-review/ ) .I would be getting an Android-Windows dual boot one, but I'm only interested in Windows to use it as a low-power low-requirement desktop computer. I'm not looking for bells and whistles, actually the third windows app I use more is Cygwin (the 1st is Chromium, the 2nd VLC, and the fourth is steam and/or classic-emulation-indie-casual gaming).

I'm almost convinced. BUT I would love to get some "first hand" information:

    - Is it difficult to format/reinstall a different windows (a lighter one) ? Are there any tricky steps in case you want to install a linux ? I know there are some driver problems for the latter: sound on HDMI... something else?
    - I would like to get this one not only to watch videos, but also to play some stuff. I know that classics (Deus Ex, System shock 2, Baldur's gate...) should work flawlessly... But how about medium-low settings Fallout 3, Skyrim or UFO at 860x480 or 1280x720 ? Did anyone tried PCSX2?
    - Can the USB ports power a 2.5 HDD, a keyboard, a mouse and a webcam/USB soundcard ?
    - The most stupid one, I know: does the audio jack provide good sound quality? I mean, is it well isolated from electrical noise ?

Any feedback will be really useful !! Thanks everyone !

It will be an overscan issue... Look in your Tv settings or the Windows driver settings

    Hello,

I have a Panasonic Viera TC-P50UT50 (50''). I bought a Wintel CX-W8 mini PC and the Windows 8.1 screen it's a little big. Same icons is out of screen for 1080p. If I change resolution (1050 or another) the screen is to small. I didn't find how change the screen size (maybe the video driver? I did all Windows Update! They say thet drivers is optimized for tv screen!). I have tried also the settings with remote TV control but nothing!

I have another TV Panasonic Viera TC-P55UT50 (55'') and everythig it's ok.

Can you give me a solution?

So, i'm shopping for this device. And i've noticed there are two revisions (one with heatsink, with only with shielding).
Apperently there are dual boot versions now aswell..

Now the questions is: Is the heatsinked version exclusive to dualOS version, or are newer revisions of single os (windows8) getting heatsinks aswell ?

It seems to CX-W8 has two types.
The old (boot windows only) and the new (boot windows and android).

I try to install 64bit bios to the new one, CX-W8 completely bricked.

I already dumped the new bios, before bricked, but it is no help ....

    Hello guys,

    Just received CX-W8 !

    It's great, but I have a weird problem : I can't activate windows 8.1 w/ bing (that's normal) so I 'd like to install W8.1 PRO (which I own already) instead.

Problem is that ... I can't ! :/ the stupid thing starts the W8 install process, but as soon as I get to partition selection and that I select the windows partition, it leaves me with an error telling me it can't locate the partition.

So I'm like "WTF". Tried deleting the partition, but didn't work either - I'm currently undergoing the "reset" process of windows boot tools, which hopefully allows me to boot on W8 again.

Any help ? What is wrong with that box ?

    [Edit 1]
Interestingly enough, android is gone upon OS selection...:/

    [Edit 2]
Windows installed just fine, all partitions related to android are gone now, and so is android of course...I guess I'll just say goodbye to it unless there's an easy way to get it back
Can't select UEFI OS either in the bios.
