    DigiLand 10.1 DL1010Q MT8127

    Hello everyone,

I'm in need of some serious help from some people who know what they're doing..

I have two DL1010Q tablets. I broke one by my own fault, the other is fine. I've been scouring and reading and testing and I cannot fix whatever I broke. I deleted all the .ODEX files from the stock rom and now I cannot boot. After reading some posts elsewhere, it seems like this is what broke my tablet, but i'm not 100%.

Using MTK Tools I have backed up my working device, I have boot.img, recovery.img, etc
I have tried flashing the system.img using fastboot but I think the bootloader is locked so it never does anything, just sits at the prompt, never shows any progress or anything. Have tried at least 5 times with the same result. MTK Tools does not support the MT8127 so I cannot pull a scatter file, however, from the rom dump there is a firmware.info that looks almost exactly like what the scatter file should look like, but SPFT doesn't like it, so it's missing some formatting or something.. I have no idea.

I attempted to use MTK Tools to make a custom recovery but it errors out. Again, probably because the MT8127 is not supported.

My next attempt was creating a signed .zip that would replace the .ODEX files using adb sideload through stock recovery... this loads and starts to run and the gives "Installation Failed" and quits.

I saw you're wishlist and was hoping that someone here would take on the challenge because this is beyond my skill set..

I have a working, rooted tablet as well as a full dump using MTK Tools and am happy to provide anything needed from these files, or if you need something else, let me know and I'll try and get it!

All the files are in my Google Drive

This is the signed zip i'm trying to use to restore the .ODEX files through Stock Android Recovery 3e.

The update-binary is patched for ARM7 devices, using the default one it doesn't even try to work, it fails instantly.

NOTE: I can't seem to upload anything so I'll try again later and see what happens.

Yep, you created a mess, you need to port a custom recovery for your tablet, then replace each and every file you removed.

You are wasting your time trying to flash anything via stock recovery.

Sadly, I have no way to flash the custom recovery. I just finished building one (TWRP) and tried to use fastboot to flash it but the recovery partition does not support flashing.. So now I'm totally at a loss. Unless there is someway to flash the recovery.img using Stock Android Recovery 3e... which i imagine there is not.

Twrp mostly likely is to big, try and flash stock recovery, if it flashes then just port cwm it's a smaller recovery. I have the 7inch version DL701Q tablet, recovery flashes no problem.

I will try that right now to test it, didn't think of that. I'm not too hopeful though since both the device output and command line output state "partition does not support flash". I looked up that error and it seems to be legit, but I'll try the stock anyways and see what happens.

You could try and flash via flashing tool, you seem to have everything you need, just get a ext4 scatter file, change recovery points to your tablet, then flash recovery.

OK, so the stock recovery dumped from MTK Tools was 16MB. Repacked it, came out at about 4MB. Flash using fastboot gives the same error. So it seems the partition is locked. The flashing tool was my first attempt however MTK won't give me a scatter file. It loads the block list but the button to create file is greyed out. I do have what I think is a mostly complete scatter from the MTK Tools dump in firmware.info... I couldn't find a sample scatter to compare so I could make my own. Do you have a scatter from your 7in Tab? And could you send it to me so I could use the formatting as an example to make mine?

Yours has the same MT8127 SoC right? Just a different FS?

                      Yes
Benchmark results for a Tianshi Digi-Land DL701Q with an ARM MT8127 processor.

So apparently I've not been paying enough attention to what I'm doing. Apparently right on the front page of MTK Tools you can generate a scatter file from the firmware.info file that I got from the dump of my working device. So now I'll see what happens with SP Flash Tools.

Another roadblock I guess... I'm following this guide

Load my scatter, point to recovery.img, click download, plug in my Tab, nothing happens.
Reading through it seems that it should access the preloader, however, I don't see any PnP activity in Windows. I tried to download the driver listed in the article but my computer won't download it. Firefox fails instantly and Chrome won't even load the page that Firefox is trying to download it from. Have you used SPFT on your Tab at all? Do you have a preloader driver for your device at all? Maybe I could try it since their kind of similar...

Well, still no luck for me. I followed that thread. Ripped out all the other usb drivers i'd been using. Installed his driver package. Verified that the drivers are loaded correctly in device manager..

Still sadly, when i click download and connect my Tab, it just sits there and does nothing. it appears to be trying, because if i unplug it i get an error that it lost connection. Just doesn't seem to want to flash anything. I'll keep trying it but at this point, no dice
