I just Dumped a Proscan 10.1 PLT1044 , its a AllWinner Boxchip A10, I need some help

Right on, Should I drop it on an sdcard then run through the backup restore? I also found a 800 number for proscan, im going to try and also get a back up image from them in case something goes wrong.
Well that went well, I asked for backup firmware, this is the response" Sorry sir no update firmware for your device because its brand new, no firmware for it, I have just about as much information as you, because its new."

I'm guessing that you'd have to put it on the sd card, and try to update through the stock recovery, yes.

You think I should do it? should I Make a stock cwm back up first?

Again, up to you. Making a backup is *always* a good idea though....

You and me both... (hoping that is :-) ). you should restore from your backup to make sure it works before you flash the image I posted...

What cwm are you using i have 2 of these tablets 1 working and 1 not

I think he's just referring to the stock recovery...unless he actually managed to get CWM on it...

I copied to sd booted in recovery and chose "apply update from external storage" no file is shown, any suggestions?

I got the same, no img file there .. wish I could figure out this cwm ..

I made some dump files using adb, if you look through the posts you will see a download link, on page 1, Maybe you can figure something out with the dump files for your tab that's not working.

if you put it in a update.zip file it finds it but mine says "signature verification failed" and aborts

I have no Idea on how to cook a rom ..
I just dumped it , for your tab that's not working have you tried the reset button ?
