Just a few notes on frequencies. 12% increase for cpu isn't much, you'll just get a placebo effect. And please don't abuse your [email protected] - especialy at 700mhz which might even fall back to 648mhz where 1.175V is enough. Just a thought from my experience.

Stick with Dalvik on KitKat until you upgrade to Lollipop.

I know that RK3288 CPU set to 1.8 GHz isn't much but even with mounted fan in my closed BOX CPU arrive at 95C quite fast (~5 minutes) and then it start throttling. For now I don't see any necessity to OC more.

As for DDR memory. Even if it is LPDDR3 type it can easly perform at 1.5V as backward compatibility (it is so with Kingston modules). And I like to be safe than sorry. But every one should experiment with his own box and find propper settings for it.

He was saying he has a fan, heatsink and an open board. I don't think he needs to worry about temps even at 2.0ghz.

Last time I checked Rockchip's specs, RAM was rated at 1.3V max. You might go above that into unsafe voltages, but I wouldn't recommend it. 1.275V is enough even for ddr@800mhz, so why giving overvoltage without any reason?

          Okey I will check that.
Are you realy sure that RK3288 can only support 1.3V memory? It will not work with standard 1.5V DDR3 modules but only with LPDDR3?

Another problem is that I do not realy know with what voltage Beelink R89 MIRA (LP)DDR3 memory modules work. Output voltage from ACT8846 regulator can be easly changed by replacing one resistor in output feedback loop. And then without multimeter or magnify glass you will never know what voltage it realy supply to chosen components .

          P.S.
I forgot that I have datasheet for P3P4GF4BLF-GGN MIRA DDR3 modules used in Beelink R89 (nexteon board). Absolute maximum rating for VDD is 1.975V therefore 1.35V * 1.25 (feedback voltage divider) = 1.6875V isn't going to damage them but overheating might .

          P.P.S.
I've just checked in RK3288 datasheet that absolute maximum rating for DDR_VDD is 1.65V. Oops . I probably crossed it a bit . Also it is good to remember that CPU_VDD and GPU_VDD max is 1.4V.

Well, i tried to use Gormar app but in terminal it says I have no permission (?). I have even used the SU command so I have root access. Don't know what could I be doing wrong...
Maybe, it's because I have a firefly board and not r28 (Android not build for the firefly board?). Any problem in EMMC?
            I don't know

@man. I updated my instruction for you to avoid placement of overclockmatick_RK3288.elf file into /mnt/sdcard directory. Because it will "land" on FAT file system or emulated storage. Both cannot be used for executable files.

You can extract overclockmatic_RK3288.elf file to /data/ path but remember to use EZ File Explorer with "Root access" enabled.

I know this has been covered, but can't seem to find it. Isn't there a way to cat a file to get proper cpu temp?

Can anyone help me out on that one? I've been watching Doctor Who in Firefox and was curious about the temp. Surely it must get warm sometimes but my R89 hardly ever feels warm externally on the top or bottom of the case.
                Thanks!

Sawbones I use a an app called "CPUTemp" with my Firefly. I downloaded it from google play. It works with only certain kernels, have no idea why, all which I have built from the SDK seem to work, but commercial built kernels seem to fail. No GPU yet but it is there. Firefly wiki has the TMRelease for temp sensors (tsar)(heatmon). listed as sensors 0,1,2,&3 0 being the sensor apparatus with #1 CPU #2 GPU #3 open.

You can read temperature from TSADC (Temperature Sensor Analog Digital Converter) build into RK3288 SoC in file /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/device/temp0_input

Thanks for the info. I didn't found application which could read RK3288 CPU temp before.
It probably reads data from /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/device/temp0_input. If kernel hasn't got that or path is much different then you will not get reading.

Xposed module for CPU temp in status bar is configurable. It reads all of available sensor files, so you'll find a right one sooner or later, just go one by one It works for me with all firmwares I tried so far (HPH and custom ones).

I have heard about Xposed but it is to much trouble installing full framework just to use one module.

Xposed is just an app which needs one reboot to take effect. I don't see the trouble there, and you shouldn't too. Once you see the full potential of what it can do, you'll install at least 3 more modules (like GravityBox, Greenify, BootManager, ...). Currently I have 7 modules installed, and if rom itself doesn't have it installed already, Xposed is the first app I install before everything else. If you use mo's rom, you won't have "trouble" installing it, as it already is installed. Give it a try.

Xposed framework isn't that tough to install on most platforms, especially if you are already rooted(there are exceptions like the ADT-1 and some other lollipop, too, which are maybe pre-alpha status compared to experimental).

With kitkat I definitely recommend stable over experimental unless you specifically need something stable doesn't support.

I don't know if I could do without xposed

                              Cheers,

Everyone who has really cared about RK3288 firmware seems to be here on this topic. Go to Firefly wiki and look at the latest entry. There is a Lollipop Rk3288 Image available, I just got back in from a long day and have not been able to spend any time with it. Check it out guys, the downloader was Wico, so it is the real deal.
