      neomode, Thank you

      neomode,
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your help. I tried to figure out how to flash that image you made me. I worked to the point of frustration....I put it all down and decided tomorrow (today) was a better day to work with tablets and images.....

I watched the F1 race and then decided to try again with the tablet. It didn't work for me any better today either. I was working on my 86 Kawasaki Ninja....and I had a flash of thought...I realized I needed to repack the backup.img with the system.img you made me....

I didn't want to leave you hanging as to how the upgrade went. When I FINALLY get it flashed, I'll let you know how it turns out. I hope to try again one night this week!

      once again, THANK YOU,
      Johnny

It will be some kind of thing like that. Have PC connected via USB, try holding one of the buttons and WHILE holding the button hit the reset. DO NOT hold reset too long! Many say to hold reset and this is usually not correct. Just hit it for about one second while holding a button. Almost all RK chips have a way to enter flash mode just like this.

            Interesting stuff

I pushed the menu button with the USB plugged in and pressed the reset button and came up with a different Hardware ID:
            USB\Vid_2207&Pid_290a&Rev_0100

hi, i also have a RK2918 tablet and i want Jelly bean too, actually it is Gingerbread installed. I bought it last year in China, it's this one: http://www.lightinthebox.com/de/silv...n_p232451.html Google Play recognise the tablet as unknown 7D Device, and Windows recognise it as HTC Dream Composite ADB Device . I cannot set the device in recovery mode too, because the device doesn't have a reset hole. Is it possible to flash this device?

Stuck on Newpad Android 4.0 screen

I got a new tablet, so I gave my Proscan to my nephew. Somehow, he did something to it and after promising not to kill him he pointed me to this forum.

The work you guys do sounds wonderful! You're geniuses!

However, I am not, haha. My nephew downloaded something here and tried to install it, I guess. When I try to turn the unit on, it gives the Android 4.0 logo with the lower portion of the screen split.

Then it goes to a blue screen with a map of the world with what looks like satellites circling the word Newpad and an Android logo. Same split screen here, just in the lower portion of the screen.

I've read through this forum and see that the OP has the same Proscan, AOS running on 29sdk.

My question is...how do I get the Proscan running for my nephew again? Or is that possible?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give. *hats off*
