To everyone else viewing this-my attempt to modify the ROM placed here by dolorespark was merely a (misguided) attempt to assist a user. I want to be clear that I did not, nor do I intend to taint someone else's work and for that encroachment, I would like to offer dolorespark a sincere apology.Last edited by elektrik; 14 December 2012, 23:03.

Understood
It was understood before this came up, I want to say I appreciate you guys and all your efforts. I wish I knew how to do what you guys do, man I'd probably be ate up with working on stuff like this. I might have to start doing some reading on basics on how to modify roms etc. Thanks for all you've done and all you do in advance.

If you meant to say "Could we modify the CM10 Rom so it works with the 543", then the answer to that is "yes, absolutely - it's in the works". If I've misunderstood, please correct me.

CM10 for Emerson EM543
I've released a version of this ROM for the Emerson EM543. It has the same features and shortcomings as the 4311 version. See the first posting in this thread for the link.
Note: unlike most touchscreen controller chips, the one on the EM543 relies on firmware that gets downloaded from a file during the first boot. If that firmware gets corrupted, your touchscreen will stop working. The software that handles this should recognize the problem and reload it - simply rebooting should fix the problem. If that doesn't work, you can force it to be reloaded by booting into Recovery and clearing the 'cache' partition (don't clear 'data', just 'cache'), then rebooting normally.

FYI... The original script put that directory in '/data' but I moved it to '/cache' to make it easier for users to fix the problem without having to get technical or wipe out their system. I don't know if it will ever be needed but it's there "just in case".
Also I have already maybe 40 applications installed on my EM543, how can I keep all that and the various settings?

here's another reason to maybe 'tweak' the stock image of the pmid4311 (em543) -
to eliminate that extra partition that they put the OEM apps in ans to rename the internal memory and sdcard to standard names. I'm trying to use titanium backup on a 4311 with the stock Rom but it will only backup to /mnt/sdcard which is the internal memory, obviously not the best place to backup to.
