It would be cool if, when we create a custom icon, the app asked if we want to add it to the global collection. Also, I was thinking as I added some apps last night, that it would be cool to drag apps from the list of all apps to the left and drop them on the home screen to add them. Just an idea....

Great app

I have been using this app and it works fine and have been creating tiles using 520 x 260 and they look great. The only extra feature i would like to see, and this has already been mentioned, is to be able to move and place the tiles where required on the home screen. Keep up the good work.

Love the clean and slick design. Love the filter feature. I like the bookmark feature but would love to be able to customize their tiles as well. I realize this is a WIP but wanted to leave my feedback and a short wishlist that is probably is in your ToDo list.

1-The ability to hide the navigation bar back.
2-The date and weather.
3-Having stock tiles to choose from.

Overall, great job and looking forward for more awesome apps from you.

Really enjoying the new app Sam, I agree with the above suggestions. I would also like the transparency option that was available in the previous TVLauncer. If anything it makes the provided icons looks consistent with my custom icons. Thanks for adding the bookmark option, this now allows me quic access to my favourite sports streaming website .

I,ve discovered your launcher googling and I've bought immediately!! Now I'm working in my own tiles ( i will share them with you as soon as I finish ) but I don't know how to use them. I mean, if I use them looking in gallery it displays a big image and I can't select it completely to use it as tile y just can select a piece of the image!!!

Do i need to place images in a concrete
folder ? or should I ned to use an specific name in each image?

I have the in .png and in 520x260!!


Could you please help me??

But you should be able to resize the image in the gallery picker.
Alternatively, you could post your icons here, and I'll add them to the application, so you can just select them from the addapps bar

I have a suggestion that may take some of the workload off you in the long run.
Instead of uploading the icons here and then you adding them manually to the backend, why not just give the users the ability to upload their icons in-app?

The naming structure for the files on the back-end could be handled simply by having the user apply there custom image to the tile first, and then having a long press selection on the tile for uploading. When uploaded the name of the application associated to the tile would rename the image file once the upload begins.

Then you could give the users a choice of which icon to use when more than one is available from the tile creation slide-out.

In my opinion you would end up with a much more customization for your users, an ever popular feature, in a much quicker manner than relying on this site's users alone for images.

Another option would be to see if you can get away with scrapping the Google Play store for the images stored in doc-banner-image-container .
Almost all new submission have this image and all of the high profile apps do.
This might be a good way to provide an image to apps that do not yet have submissions.


Other Thoughts - For down the line.

1. Please, please, please give me the ability to arrange my tiles on the screen. The current method of "favorites" is cumbersome at best and flaky at worst. Id say you could accomplish this again with a long press popup of the tile, where a direction icon could be selected. Once selected the direction keys on the remote would move the tile around on the screen until the user again selects enter for the tiles final placement.

2. I sure do miss the the weather. Since the current layout in the new app makes much better use of the vertical screen, there is less room for weather.
One idea would be to put the weather icon to the left of the clock and the weather description to the right of it.
Another idea would be to create a Tile that serves as a widget of sorts containing the weather. The user could assign it to open their weather app of choice upon selection.

3. RSS ticker - Who doesn't love an RSS ticker? You could add an Rss ticker at the very bottom of the screen as a layer that sits above the Tiles. If you give it a dark simi-transparent background that fades to full transparent it would not disrupt the aesthetic of the clean layout at all.
The same thing could be done, directly under the clock, but I personally feel that would make the layout feel too busy.

4. Give me the ability to create custom tiles for the web page shortcuts, with the same upload abilities listed above.

5. Add search back to the layout. At present only a search for apps is available. You could add a web-search bar into either of the two slide outs. This is a Google device after all. Plus many of the media apps allow for Google's indexed searching.

Thanks all I can think of for now. Great start on the rebuild of the app though and Im looking forward to see its progression.

Yea but you're weird, so you don't count.
They can server a purpose on these boxes. Say, put in the rss feed for your favorite scene site, for an up to the minute report on the latest releases.

I found it!!!! Thanks a lot for your interest but it was a problem with my gallery, once i fixed it it begins to wok!!

Anyway I will upload my tiles to try to help you a little little little bit with your really great job!!
