Custom ROM version 5.0s release candidate for the ARNOVA 8G2 8Gb

In the archive:
- image\AN8G2_v5sRC.img - very flash
- RK29BachTool_v1.4 - a tool for firmware
- Drivers - USB Drivers for ARNOVA flashing mode.

Flash only through RK29BachTool!!!
Rolling back to the stock firmware is also only through RK29BachTool

Differences firmware.
- Sections converted into a format the ext4 file system
which is much faster read/write data
allows to edit, add and delete files in it.

- Set aside for user data 1Gb memory. This will allow
install more applications.
With the increasing number of applications increases the start time.

- Updated some applications.

Flashing:
Connect ARNOVA to the BB via USB-cable.
At 2 seconds, press the "reset", you hear the sound of the columns twice.

If the driver is not installed, install it.
In Windows devices should see:

Then run RKBatchTool.exe
Select the firmware and click "Restore"

I have installed this rom two hours ago and it works very well.

One minor thing is that the video player app crashes on start. I recommend to use MX Video Player from the market.

At the moment my tablet eats the battery like mad, but I don't think that this has something to do with this new rom. I will check this out later.

Bluetooth file transfer to my mac book works very well.

Hi guys,

Just got my hands on an 8G2 and was wondering if someone could let me know when the download link for this custom rom will be back online. When I try to download the server states the file doesn't exist.

Looking forward to joining the tablet community, have been running different rom's on my DHD for a while now and am hoping to start learning to contribute to the projects.

I am not sure. I did find a file called AN8G2_v5sRC.7z that the link is to now, but not sure if that is Sowa's final or not? I would wait for official word from Sowa before you flash this ROM.

Thats the file i was looking for, the download is working again, it's not the final release its a release candidate.

The FTP was only down about an hour on Sunday while I was rearranging our servers at the co-lo. I am pretty sure this is Sowa's release candidate not his final.

I have found serious flaws in the published ROM so that stopped the download.
Approximately 1 hour later upload the board version.

eeer does that mean I have to redownload this rom and reflash?? just got it set up almost perfect! I noticed the fixes are flash and video could you not just provid the correct files to manual install ourselves(already installed flash and use mxplayer for video any way)..Would save time for those who have flashed already and as I have 300+ apps installed is a damn pain to start fresh if only minor issues!



as to bugs... manage apps in settings FC's for me and g-sensor are off up=up down=down left=righ and right=left!! annoyingly funny but game play is terrible as a result! Also is it safe for me to use my own boot animation?

Hi thank you for your reply...It's good news not having to Re-install everything thank you for the update file.......

As to the workaround you indicated that works for apps that rotate screen the wrong way wrong and for apps that don't rotate to landscape but doesn't resolve tilt control issue... Some games the controls are correct (tilt left = left, tilt right = right) but others are incorrect(tilt left = right, tilt right = left) its most annoying as seems to happen it car,or aircraft sims mostly... Just wish there was a fix...

Anyway first impressions of the rom are GREAT!!! Loving the stability and speed...So fluid now... Still a few minor issues as mentioned but thats fine as all are liveable...

Keep up the great work..


And if you have a A8G2 8Gig flash this rom!!!!

Trying to get this onto to my tablet I've run into a severe problem, I'm running Windows 7 SP1 and it seems that I get the driver to work, my tablet won't come up in the batch thing.

I have tried everything it did work on an XP machine, but not on this. Everything is upto date.

Any fix?
