If you are root you can install it using terminal emulator and having busybox installed. Look in my post for rk3188 cwm (rk3188 section), you can download the script zip, and try this way. If it doesn't work for you I will try to make new scripts, the cwm recovery.img that you used before the update must work with 4.2.2, only installation is different.

Thanks for the suggestion. Even with this method the same error is constant - "can't find misc" and then "can't mount /cache/recovery/command" and also "can't find misc" with 4 errors "can't mount /cache/recovery/log" "can't open /cache/recovery/log" "can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log" and "can't open /cache/recovery/last_log"
It's nice to see the CWM menu but an awful tease that every selection ends in an error.

Tried and it brings up the CWM menu but you can't actually execute anything from it. It won't find the "Misc" image and won't mount anything. Everything results in Misc image not found error. By the way, I had to skip the step about rebooting because, as I said previously, the stock recovery just rewrites the stock firmware back. So rebooting to stock rcovery for me eliminates ArcTools and the rooting done to the device and you have to start again. Other devices have better stock recovery.

I will try the term emulator method and hope for luck. When I tried it with the latest 4.2.2 on the 808B last week it did not work. I am really not sure why the factories are shipping the roms this way. Not sure what part of the rom they are messing with to cause such difficulties. Not sure how they think it benefits them?!?!

Do not know if this is the case, but in mine, from Android, I run the Terminal:

su
reboot recovery

The CS968 (RK3188) execute reboot entering recovery mode.

Of course if you are root, and you can boot the device, you can use reboot.apk by Petrus, or webipsum way from terminal emulator.

I have been a fan of your work and that of Fun and the community at large. Your instructions have helped me many times. I have never had to ask for anything until now. CWM is a huge help but I can't find a version to work with this device. Stock firmware is here: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1zOOYV
MK819/UG008/UG007 CWM all the same under Android 4.1.1. I just used the UG007 CWM and it was great. The same version does not work with 4.2.2. I have loaded by writing with Finless ROM flash tool 1.37. I had first tried using update method but of course that failed with latest 4.2.2.
Stock recovery just rewrites it without any menu/options.
I would really like to get CWM working on this device.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the advice but i was thinking even though it hang yet still possible to reboot is there a way to enter into recovery without connecting to pc

In my both sticks mk808b and imito QX1 if I press the reset button while power on the stick (and the device is not conected to a pc in otg port) it enters in recovery mode after 30 second or less. That is the only key combination who works for me.
But I can't assure that this will work for all sticks.

Is there any way to get CWM to display via A/V composite output? . . .currently only have access to an old tv

CWM seems to load fine - if I press left mouse button system reboots - it is just displaying a black screen.

Works fine with hdmi obviously.

Dont worry about it, I think the cpu is not running at 1008 fixed, only thing is that system reports wrong cpu speed to the program.
Want to test for yourself?
Try this:
Download cpu no frills, cpu master, or any program to limit cpu speed.
Download antutu benchmark.
Limit the cpu speed at 1008 with cpu master or other, I suggest "no frill cpu.." the better one for me.
Run antutu benchmark.
Take note of the results.
After, limit cpu at 1400
Run antutu again
Compare the cpu puntuations

I just want to ask if there is any chance to having a working CWM recovery for Minix Neo G4 108C version.
The existing cwm recovery from here works only on 108A version of Neo G4.
