    Ok, now I get it.
Thanks again for all the answers.
I won't bother you again. At least not until next week! Only if i get a bad backup again.
I will be using a newly formatted 4GB external sd card. Formatted using NTFS.

No, this recovery is more elaborated than the old 4.1 one, but it can't make backups for now.
Now you must install cwm recovery, and after you can backup the rom to internal or external sdcard, at least 700mb free on it.

Your English is actually much better than alot of other people. Yeah children are like that. Lucky for me mine all grown up.

Ok. Now since I already have Finless 2.1 so if reboot to recovery using petrus apk without installing cwm recovery it will go to finless 2.1 recovery. Because it is now the 'stock rom' in my mk808.
From Finless 2.1 recovery can I make backup and restore? Answer: Y or N is enough.
Will the backup be saved to internal or external sd? Answer: I or E is enough too.

Without installing CWM Recovery after Finless 2.1 flashing if use petrus apk it will not work. correct?
    Answer here

Reboot apk will send you to the stock recovery instead of cwm recovery if you use it without cwm recovery installed

    So the steps are:
    1.Flash Finless 2.1 using rktool>wait 3-4minutes after blue light turn on>unplug mk808.
2.pplug mk808 while pressing reset button>Install CWM recovery-using rktool just flash recovery-cwm.img, all other check box in rktools unchecked
    3. Connect mk808 to tv and boot to Android
    4. Start Petrus Apk>reboot to recovery>choose restore and backup>choose backup to external sd card>let it run. Will there be any message when backup is completed? (1st time i made my stock rom backup I did not wait. Maybe that was the reason why it failed)
    Answer here

After step 1 I suggest you to boot in android at least 1 time, then power off the stick.
The rest is ok, and after cwm recovery make the backup, the menu will apears again, and then you must choose the reboot the device option. If you want you can test if your backup is ok trying to restore it.

Can i suggest when you reply just edit my post and write the answer in RED as shown above. OK?

Sure now all is most clear. But in tapatalk no colors are available, so I must use the default color

Sorry i keep bothering you last few days.

Don't worry about this, I am here to try to help.

We are mixing things. Petrus reboot apk only can reboot with different options, when you enter in cwm recovery you have a menu with all the options on it, an option to restart recovery, other to wipe data and cache, backup or restore, etc..., when a operation is finished the menu return and then you can choose other option. Petrus apk have nothing to do with cwm recovery or stock one, is only a tool to boot in recovery, bootloader or other way.

You don't need to have the device connected to TV to install a rom, but if you use the Finless flash tool or the stock flash tool when the rom finish the install it will reboot and you need to wait 2-3 minutes before unplug it, cause after the install, it makes some operations like format sdcard, cache and data, etc.. If you unplugg the device while this operations are running, it will result in most cases in a bootloop. So if you have the tv or monitor connected you can see when this process finish and you can disconnect the device in a safe way.

About the partitions size, they are defined in the parameter file. Hard to explain how it works cause they are write in hex values and need to pass them to decimal.

If your stock rom recovery backup is wrong sorry but you will not be able to use it. It never happened to me and I made a lot of rom backups using cwm. Maybe your microsd card is bad, maybe an error while backup was been doing.

    Does it answer your question?

With a terminal emulator installed from market. In this way you must have android running too, and need to be rooted too, run in terminar emulator:

    sureboot recovery

Or pressing the reset button while the device boots. This way always works and you can use it if the system have a bootloop, cant boot android or you cant use the above forms.

power off or simple reboot? when inside recovery mode using the menu in petrus apk?

Blue text:- please clarify if the device is connected to pc or to tv/monitor when doing this?

Doing the one of the above method to get into CWM recovery mode ONLY after installing CWM Recovery after flashing with Finless 2.1. Correct or not? The purpose is to restore any backup rom (stock or custom). Right or wrong?

Can you please also answer the questions I have in my post in the Red text and Blue text portion.

How do I know if a rom have different partition size. In Finless 2.1 Readme First.txt Bob did mention it for his system.img BUT for other roms i wonder if they will mention it.

Now I have already installed Finless 2.1. I will be doing the CWM recovery install coming weekend and try to recover my stock rom.
I still have not given up to get back the stock rom. LOL!

BTW after doing the backup how long do i need to wait before power off the device or will there be any message in petrus apk or cwm recovery to notify the backup or restore completed successfully. Like in Bob's Rktool when flashing rom or installing cwm?

    1. Reinstall Finless 2.1. When doing it erase nand before flashing rom.
    2. Then install cwm using Rktool
Doing both using pc NOT from Petrus Reboot.

When you said first backup failed, does it mean the CWM folder and files inside are useless now? The sd card is 1gb. The file inside cwm>backup folder are:
    boot.img 16384kb
    data.ext4.tar 0kb
    data.ext4.tar.a 278688kb
    kernel.img 16384kb
    recovery.img 16384kb
    system.ext4.tar 0kb
    system.ext4.tar.a 613343kb
If possible i want to get back the stock rom. If i rename those 0kb .tar.a file to .tar and .tar to .tar.a do you think it will help?

To enter recovery without petrus, push reset while booting when connected to tv/monitor. NOT using pc.
    Are the above statements correct?
You can use petrus reboot app to reboot without problems. and yes install erasing nand and dont worry about your original stock rom there is a copy of it in the net. And Bob rom is a way better than stock one.
I have recovery images with those size too, no rename them cause this files with 0b must be in that way, so that is not the problem backup fails cause the md5 hashing fails, maybe bad sdcard or maybe an error making the backup.

    To flash the device:
    There are 4 ways :

1º Using Finless rk flash tool included in all his roms, is a Windows pc program, with it you can flash separately the different file.img that conforms the rom, This utility can resize partitions, formating the internal memory and partitioning it.

2º With the PC windows flash tool provided by the rom manufacturer, this tool flash a entire file.img, the stocks roms are provided in this way. It can resize and format all partitions

3ºFrom rktools in Linux. Hard way and very hard to explain how to use it.

4º Frm cwm recovery. No PC needed, but this way cant partition the device, so if there is necessary to repartition this way is not useful.

Suddenly the system crashes when opening antutu benchmarking(you can read the posting in Bob's thread if you want to).

But it failed to restore. MD5 checksum problem. Is my restoration files for the stock rom made using Petrus Reboot incompatible with CWM?
So now how do i get into CWM recovery without using Petrus reboot? Rebooting now just go to home screen. Still can use the mk808 except running any benchmarking apps will make it crash.

Look at the internal sd and external sd if there is a file called update.zip.
You will need to install recovery.img with rk flash tool.
