Did the SD Card maker tool work on Windows 7?
I recall something about that only working on XP.

I can't speak for that easier one I found but I know for sure I have used SDCardmaker.exe on windows 8 64 bit and it works. Just have to right click and run as administrator.Originally posted by Finless View Post

SD card maker is not working for me and yes I am running it as admin in windows 7.
I get some error pop up I assume but I cannot read anything to determine what the problem is!
I will try the SD tool.

SD tool seems to work but when it's done the SDcard appears to have no files on it.
Shorting those pads and holding the reset does not cause my LED to blink.
So this doesn't seem to work for me possibly because I cannot make the SD card.
The sdcardmaker tool does not work for some reason.
In that ROM download, what files were in the zip?
I cannot get that download you speak of from that forum.
Can you upload it to dropbox or google drive.

I just copied this from a message I sent someone on another board about how I use SDCardmaker.exe and it seemed to work for them.Originally posted by Finless View Post
To run it right click and run as administrator. Click the dropdown box at top and select drive letter of your sdcard. Check the box in middle of screen, which makes it format the card during the process. In the bottom dropdown box browse to your u-boot.bin file from that firmware. Then click the bottom button. It should format the card and then put the u-boot.bin in the bootable are. Just use x top right to close window. Then copy files from that firmware to the sdcard and put it in the mx and continue from there.
See if that helps! I had to figure it out from pics someone posted because I do not speak chinese either!

That's what I did. When it is done formatting and I close the formatting dialog, I then get a pop up that says something I cannot read. I assumed it was some error? Are you say that pop up message you click on is not an error?
Also that release you are talking about. I believe not all releases have the needed files. Some releases have other files in the zip like uImage_recovery and some do not. The release you used may have something needed.
What is the list of files you have in that release please?

The sdcard will look bland after sdcardmaker or sdtool but should be bootable. Then you need to copy the contents of this zip unzipped to the sdcard.

I just used the latest release from Tronsmart.
I got the 3 blinks and off it went!
Freakin Aaaaaaa..... How did you find what pins to short?
I was shorting NAND pins all over the place before and never got that far.
Anyway... it's updating now. GREAT FIND!

Finless ROM in the works!
I have spent a lot of time today...
I have completely DEODEX'ed the ROM and am moving on now on other cool things.
Pisses me off I have to add the gameloft fix to every ROM! What's wrong with that?
Anyway stay tuned guys...
NOW that I know I can unbrick, I am making a ROM.
Also I plan to decompile the sdcardwriter windows APP and translate the damn thing so it makes sense to people.
LOT's to do... but I am working on it now folks... TOP priority for me at this time.

Unfortunately, I fell into it. I have some questions. I made it to the sd card, copied it to frimwaret. How long to press the reset button, the foot összezárst will be eliminated when the image is displayed on a TV? However, my non-blinking blue LED. I think it's a problem.
