Hello Randy...
I Flashed NEOCR rom but it stuck in recovery mod....
System is not loading...
After flash i flash nand fix via cwm recovery & reboot...
But its not working in my tab...(not booting)
Only modification i did is i replaced my stock kernal with ur kernal...(Suggested by u)
One more thing in cwm recovery touch buttons are not working so going back is not possible...

I made second try without changing anything flashed NEOCR rom...
Its not booting at all... (nothing doing)
So i am on conclusion that kernal inside NEOCR rom is not compatible with my device...
And replacing my kernal in NEOCR rom will result in stuck in recovery mod...
I think modifying my kernal will solve this problem... which is beyond the scope of my knowledge...

Penta must have locked that down somehow. Did you ever get my ROM to work? Except for cwm? Like I said CWM is the trickiest part for me.

Your alpha rom is working well... (Because it has stock kernal)And i am using it right now..But ur beta rom never booted....And when i replace my stock kernal in ur beta rom it stuck in recovery mod....

OK. There is something I did in the beta it doesn't like.

Try my system.img from the beta and see if that boots. Then try to add the other images until you find which one is the culpret. It might be the boot.img.

The only thing I did to the kernel was put my branding in it, so use the stock kernel if it works.

That is the trouble with not having the tablet to test on.

Since this is my first time trying to do an rk29 rom maybe it is my signing tool I use. It is for the rk30 chips.

Can we find custom kernel for RK2928... I think this will solve problem...

Well, that is one thing we can't really do as ROM DEV's

Kernels are device specific. Unless you have the manufacturers code, you can't build a custom kernel. We are stuck with that kernel.

The cwm I sent in the beta came from the Arnova ROM. We need to search for a generic CWM for rk29 devices and start from scratch.

Try downloading this. It is the generic one at the bottom.

Extract the recovery.img from within the zip file and flash it.

Randy i tried this recovery.. since i am a regular member of xda i know about RK29GENERIC_CWM...Sadly this recovery also not working... (it will not mount file system)

I Made this try also... I replaced ur beta system.img into ur alpha rom and flashed it..But it stucks in my stock recovery... Not loading system...

OK. At least you have root now with that alpha.

I'm made the new system a little larger than stock in the beta. The alpha was just an edited stock system.img with root.

I can't remember if I changed the parameter file for that. It is likely the reason it won't boot. Or may I set permissions wrong somewhere in some files I added. I will take a look.
