But the problem is that this speed is achieved by my laptop, not by my mk808b..
I started another discussion on this thread:

They told me to change my usb power supply, because it can make the difference in whole system stability and as consequence to the ethernet speed..
    Let's see if it works.

I noticed the same as you. When I copy something it starts off fast but after 30 - 40MB the speed drops or halts the system for a couple times. It think the cpu might not be able to handle this as network transfer is also calculation and transformation of data which is probably done partially by the cpu. I haven't installed a cpu monitor but it might be worth checking that.

in my case the speed don`t fade but it is slow by the beginning.
the new power adapter is on the way I`ll tell you if it will improve

I'll tell you guys this, the fastest speeds I have on my network are posted by the ones with a Atheros 9227 chip (ie: TP-Link in my case)

Can you do a transfer of a big file and measure the speed or time it how long it takes? Also when I google for that chipset and TP-link I get a wifi N adapter ?

            Working Full Speeed USB Ethernetadapter

After trying four different usb-ethernetadapters, I found out that the chinese cheap versions all get stuck at 8 megabit! I now found the perfect adapter and it gives me full speed like a 100mb adapter should.

Check out this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCXvfz41yv8

I bought the adapter mentioned in the video(link can be found in text under video) and shipped it to the Netherlands. It arrived within a week, so pretty fast shipping. I use a MK802IIIs(RK3066) stick and it functions directly without any problems.

I have no connections to the ****-seller, just want to help out.

              Same question for you Pancho

Can you do a transfer of a big file and measure the speed or time it how long it takes? By big file I mean a file bigger than 100MB.

I tested it with the Androidapp ANDSMB. When I download a file from my NAS I get a transferspeed of 1.9 megabyte per second. I haven't been able to test with other apps, if you have any suggestions let me know. It plays 1080p mkv's without a problem, and that's all I need. When I hook the adapter up to my windowspc it downloads from my NAS with 11,5megabyte per second and uploads with 10.5megabyte per second, so I think the test with ANDSMB isn't the real speed, but i'm not sure.

Does it keep on copying at that speed? Mine drops speed like crazy after 30 or 40MB

R: Need suggestion on usb to rj45 ethernet adapter

                    Hi all
i get an apple 10w power supply (usb charger) and I made a test with the bobjear adapter.
862MB file copied with es explorer, 4.10 min that is 250sec 3.44MB/s mean transfer rate.
At around 20% the speed dropped to 1.5MB/s and remained like that for 20%, then it raised to 5.5MB `till 70%. then it was oscillating around 3.5MB/s

so 3.44 is 27 Mbit/s far less than 100Mbs (80-90 with my laptop, same task)
Again, why is the transfer rate so slow with this device, compared to the adapter+laptop (see some post backward).

with xbmc and samba share with my linux decoder as smb server HD videos are superlaggy, can`t see them..

                      my 2 cents

I have also been searching for the right USB to RJ45, so far it seems that only ASIX based chipsets
are able to give us near 100 Mbps speeds.

                      Here is an example:

And here is a forum post where the forum members informs us of speed results from a few brands:
                      source: http://www.armtvtech.com/armtvtechfo....php?f=29&t=78

                      Chipset: AX88772B
                      Speed: down/up 90Mbps/85Mbps

Forum member "pricer" states that both work to at least 20Mbps down / 10Mbps up
                      AX88772A

                      AX88772B

Note: I've been searching for three days and I've noticed that there are a bunch of USB to RJ45 units
that look exactly the same but have diferent chipsets on them. Be very careful before purchasing.

Be careful with aliexpress. I ordered the AX88772A from there and they sent me the wrong model (ie slow 6Mbps down only).

I got this one off **** instead on a whim because it looked like a model from a video of good ones and it works great. That and the model number on the side, although different, seemed close enough to me to be correct:

thanks for the warning. Is the build quality acceptable ? It seems that some of these units( similar body, not your model in specific) are being built with weak cables terminations that literally rip out of the main body a few weeks after usage.

Hmm, glad you brought that to my attention as I was unaware of that with this type of model. It seems pretty sturdy although I'm pretty careful with it. The only oddity I noticed with it is that the ethernet plug head doesn't really 'snap' in like they usually do.. which concerned me at first, but it does seem ok. The device does get a little warm as well. I'm guessing that is probably why I needed to mod in a new powersupply to my device (5v 2.5a).

It is a tough call, so yeah, I should be more careful before I make recommendations as well.

I'm not sure if they were refering specifically to your model, its too hard to confirm with some many variations and clones.

Here's the link that mentions the issue ( check the 1 star reviews)

...These reviews could also be fake, one never knows these days

Btw about the clipping part, its usually because the plastic clicker on the RJ45 is not high enough. You can sometimes force it upwards SLIGHTLY but you risk breaking it. If it clips-on elsewhere then nvm.

Read the comments at the link. They look similiar, and it could just be a generic build. The only thing that made me interested in the **** model I chose was the actual chipset number on the side of it. I should be fine with the build though, as with my setup I don't let it hang by the ethernet cable anyway. It's just lying flat with no extra weight applied. I'll report back later if I'm still satisified with it.
