Had a look at Geekbuying's blog, instructions for Flashing using the batch tool does state to use the software button, "upgrade". Try again using this and see if it works.
Got to get some sleep now. I'll check back in tonight and see if you have had any luck.

You might need to try all of the RTL8723BS roms. There are several. I have never seen a device like yours before.

What sort of thermal solution does you device use? Also, have you tried a different power source?

It's not rebooting because of heat. It may be the power. Try a different 5v2a plug and a different usb with it. Don't plug into the tv.

If you used the firmware from the other thread that I linked to and it all works fine, the reboot must be coming from the power.

budgetgeek has experience with these, as I have said, I don't have much experience on the 3188. Since he doesn't think its overheating, I'd try his suggestions regarding the power supply.
I have a 3188 box, it has a heatsink and can get pretty warm, I don't see how they keep the sticks cool without one. Aim a table fan at the stick, to rule out heat as the problem.
Power supplies have been an issue for many of these devices, so it would not surprise me to find it was your sticks issue.
                          Keep us posted.

The power supply should be equal or greater in current(amps, milliamps) than the original's, voltage equal to the original's.

Look at the rating on it, should say 5V 2A or similar. That is 2000 mA. Definitely not 9V.

And you may be able to fit a small heatsink in the casing, I took one off my mk808b and fitted it in but I haven't recovered from the prepare idb failed problem yet.
