    Howdy All,

Now that kodi 16.1 is out, I have done a new OE7 build (6.95.2b), & thus far it appears almost as solid as K15

I've been following kszaq 's effort with LibreELEC, & have done an MX3G build based on his 7.0.0.1 release as well

Both these builds are using kodi 16.1, the main difference is that kszaq 's LibreELEC build includes the new Amlogic CEC drivers, while my OE7 build uses my trusty older kernel that my OE6 builds uses

I don't have access to a CEC capable TV for testing at the moment (Both builds appear to work equally well on my old dumb LCD display

    Cheers!

I do not even know if one of the last Wilro build works, also, because I am moving and all is packed from some time, yet! So your bet is 6.0.1A , .xz file extension is for Sdcard installation! Let us know. I understand your android fw is actually working on the box. Now the aml.autoscript should be switched with the newer one ( my quoted msg on page 16 if I am not wrong, is from time ago!).
    Edit:
Do not quote my remarks about recovery, once you have aml.autoscript working, and you do not need to upgrade it, it doesn't flash a second time. This was clear to me afterwards!
FYI, I managed to 'fix' the problem with the M8S by using the bootloader.img, logo.img from the M8S stock rom and an M8S TWRP recovery.img. I added the bootloader, logo and recovery.img files to the 6.0.3d MXIII-G OpenELEC version zip.

Installed TWRP first, then installed the zip via TWRP (to bypass zip file signature verification). The two boxes are very similar - same CPU, Wifi (I don't use Ethernet). I copied the remote.conf file from the stock rom to the .config folder in OpenELEC and the remote works as well.

Works an absolute treat!!!! Wifi works, playback is 100% smooth (just like on my MXIII-G). All four cores being utilized as on the MXIII-G, HDMI-CEC working..........

    Howdy All,

I have released build 6.0.3e - It has a few improved patches over 6.0.3d, + includes my backported support to use Bluetooth audio output in kodi 15.

I'm still tied up with some major work projects which will keep me away from the MX3G until at least the end of the month, I'm having too many issue's with the current OE7/Kodi 16 builds, so I have nothing new to offer atm. I did do a test build using kodi 15 on top of OE7, which does work quite well, but simply highlighted that there are still issues with both - My 6.0.3e build is more stable than any of my oe7 ones, so I will be running it until I get more time to tinker with OE7/K16

Should it be working out of the box, or how can I fix the SDcard mounting so I can flash it from SDCARD.

    Also another issue I see,
I use a KVM amd it can see it ok, if its conneced (OE 6.95.1) but when I switch to my other computer and back it does not get a lock on the screen, meaning it just hangs (I did notice that if a movie is playing, it plays on my screen (connected to kvm) in slow motion.
    Has any1 expreinced this?

I did not check yet without the KVM.
    Hi alon24,

Your sdcard should work & mount automatically (I run from sdcard mostly, however when I reboot from nand, it always mounts the sdcard without issue) - I would try a newer build than 6.95.1, it has quite a few quirks that have been resolved in my later test builds. As it stands, there are a number of issues with kodi 16 as well which I'm unable to resolve to my satisfaction at the moment, so I'm back on 6.0.3x until I have more time (or more updates for it appear

Somewhere I read that it must changed the HDMI output from RGB to YCbCr, or change the RGB levels from 0-255 to 16-255 (I'm not sure). Can you fix it wilro_6276?
I doubt that these devices support this (the newer S905's might, seeings as they have hdmi2.0 support - There may be some options that can be manipulated @ the command prompt on the box, but I'm not aware of any at this time, sorry

hey wilro, an update on those very high bitrate files: they work flawlessly! seems the problem was in the network disk being to full, i've cleared some space and i was able to watch the whole movie without any interruption. These boxes with your openelec builds really are the perfect media boxes for my needs.

As I had used aml.script for the previous test, recovery refused to work this time ( no usb working, mose and Logitech k400 dead ! ), so I unplugged and replugged AC, OE started after the second boot ( just like the first time with release 6.0.1e and toothpick method working ! ).
    Coming back soon !
Edit 1 : 6.0.1D: no WiFi, no BT working as before, remote works only as before, light becomes RED if in suspend !
    More to come
Edit 2: 7 devel from 1/3 ( today !) only Ethernet working ( well, must say ), no Wifi, Bluetooth works and hold connection, but I haven't find a way to make it play from TV loudspeakers or send smtg outside ! Stock remote work as before, RED light comes out when shut off.
Edit 2/a : I have seen You put aml.autoscript in the file, but OE booted without toothpick method!
Thanks again for Your work, Wilro !
If You want me to check something I can test in the mornings ( Central European time, btw ) , much easyer than in the afternoons !

S812 CPU, 2gb ram, 8gb storage, wifi chip is AP6330. I bought it off **** here in the uk. It runs Kodi very well - plays back both HEVC and H264, but I would really like openelec on it. There are all kinds of issues with the M8S and installing openelec mentioned on the 'net.

At least I can get TWRP installed, backup my current system and data and restore if necessary, but I would really like to install openelec via SD Card - it would save a lot of time.

I know this is off topic, but how easy/difficult is it to create the .img file for OE from either the existing .zip or .tar files?

I also have a clone M8S box as well as the MXIII-G and I'm finding that all of the flashable zips from amlinux.ru/image/ for the M8S box soft bricks the device, and I have to use the USB burning tool to recover the box.

If there was an easy way to create the .img files from the amlinux.ru/image/ .zip or .tar files, then I could use the SD card method to test out the OE builds without bricking my M8S.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    I have a Windows 7 PC.

    Hi.
i would like to thanks for your efort with the mxiii-g
I'm using your OpenELEC-MX3G.arm-6.0.3d.zip from one week and it rocks.
I wonder if its possible for you to make de box power button to power off the box if we press it?
The box power button only power it on and don't power it off.
