    Hi,

I'm trying to install liamstears custom ROM on my Tronfy x6.
I installed rockchip drivers, connected box to PC and opened up Android Tool v2.3
The tool says "Found one ADB device".

Went to 'Upgrade Firmware' and loaded in the upgrade.bin file firmware.
But when I press 'Upgrade', I get the "Match device type failed, stop running!" error.
Tried a few things but to no avail.
    Any help, please..

You have to flash update.img not upgrade.bin.

Here is a link to the guide for flashing a firmware update on Rockchip devices. http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...k3288-t3239894. Just follow it to flash your box. I suggest you use this firmware mod instead of liamstears, Z4_UGOOS_MOD_V1.3_by_yablrar. Its the best firmware by far.

          Thanks Guys,
I found that with the dreaded Tronfy that after you do a power on / reset, there is few lines of text on the screen and you have to select 'Bootloader'.
Android Tool will then recognise it as a Loader device and will flash the firmware OK !

Tried a few different firmwares and would agree that Z4_UGOOS_MOD_V1.3_by_yablrar seems the best.

              Hi I have a Z4 box which has a 20150914 Firmware on it. It's a 2Gb / 16 GB box.. Is it safe to update to Z4_UGOOS_MOD_V1.3?
And if yes how do I do it..
I have downloaded the Firmware and Android Tool.
So how to start the update?
Shall I connect while my box is on and running or is there any buttons I need to press to go to the bootloader or something?

Thanks any help will be appreciated

Put the latest stock fw if you need passthrough audio.

Sdcard update is only for stock firmwares.

Latest stock for Z4 (16gb) only not Z4L(8gb):
                        http://www.filefactory.com/file/5oa1...5_20160331.zip

For modded ROMs use tools. No need to tinker with reset button, use an app like titanium backup etc. to boot to recovery/bootloader

                        Best modded:

Try another otg usb cable if you have problems.

yes i tried to put yablrar modded rom but for me the problem is i never succeed to upload the firmware : perhaps it's a problem of drivers ?? in RKBatchtool the GREEN LIGHT never appear

you tell me i must use "titanium backup etc. to boot to recovery/bootloader" ... can you please tell me how to do ??

                          thanks

Use TB reboot option or Quick Boot (Reboot) by GHCV (both free) from App store. Then boot into bootloader and the tool button will turn green if drivers are installed properly.

unfortunately it doesn't work ..... nothing to do i even try via "adb sideload" .... nothing to do

                              i think it's a problem of drivers ;(
