    Help needed identifiying this box

I have purchased an AMLogic media player under the name "MXIII"
According to the seller this box has an S812 soc, but I'm not so sure...
I have been trying to install a different rom on it, but everything fails.
Using A ROM for MXIII plus / MXIII-G fails, but ROMS for the "normal" MXIII fails too, so I'm a bit lost with what I have here.
Both SD method and USB tool fail, so I guess I"m just not using the right ROM.

The box is the small square one with the button on top.
    The box says MXIII 4k
It has 2gb of ram and 5ghz wifi (confirmed)
According to the seller it has an S812 but I doubt that because that would make it an MXIII-plus or MXIII-G right?
In the firmware the box identifies itself as only "MXIII"
It seems to be running a fairly recent version of 4.4.2
With some hardware app i get the information that the soc is n AML8726-M8

    Questions:
    -is this an S812?
-if not, how can I make this clear to the seller for a dispute?
-what other ROM could I use?

The last picture identifies the cpu as "Amlogic Meson 8 AML8726-M8", and according to Wikipedia, it's Amlogic M802:
      Amlogic M802 (originally called AML8726-M8)

Your Board is an MXIII V3_1 20151016
You now need to read the stamped writing on the wifi chip.
Search Amlogic s802 roms and keep in mind the board refference.
These things from china are all about the boards and wifi chips as they are
clones of a branded box or a variation.
I’m sorry i can’t help further but i have seen that box mentioned in forums.
I don’t own one but you did the right thing opening it up to identify it.

Start with the link below as some m8 roms work with this thing as well.

          I found that information too.
However that article does not give an alternative code for S805 or S812 so that doesn't rule out S812 these are all known as AML8726-M8.

On alibaba I found wholesale logic boards for media players with the same specs as what I got.
The soc matches the G/plus version (S812), but it's not gigabit ethernet but only 10/100, and it's not advertised as being able to run android 5, just kitkat 4.4
Firmware for the normal MXIII and for the MXIII-plus/G all fail to install, guess it's some weird hybrid version.

I don't know which one is the wifi chip, could it be the one on the left of the first photo that says "KM3304033"?
Tried googeling that but didn't get any hits.

I also noticed the circuit boards (see photos) are marked 20151016 and 20151019 so it's a very recent design.
I think the seller might be right and it is actually a S812, but unfortunately that doesn't make it into a MXIII-plus/G.

I think it is the one with IC stamped on it. Please see other link above on your box. It is a nightmare of clones.

Hi! I'm in your same situation! I bought this box because i thought is was an mxiii-g, instead is the same one you have. Same board as you can see in the pcs. I was searching everywhere in the net the reason why i can't update it in any way, every time i tryed with sd method or usb tool i have these kind of errors

I tried flashing it with an sd card and also tried to get into recovery with no joy..

I also have tried a working mxiii power supply and it changes nothing.

I am now trying to flash an image with usb burning tools. The mxii is picked up. But it gos to 2% when flashing then theres an error and it starts again. When I go to device manager and monitor it , its shown under libusb-wwin32 devices, as a "Worldcup device"

When flashing every time it fails it disappears from device manager, like its been disconnected, reappears, flash starts again, 2% , then loops.

when I just leave it be and dont start the flash it stays connected without an issue.

I recently purchased what appears to be a MXIII 2GB version firmware is m111k4. i have been trying to install this rom, but i could not get to recovery. It just gets stuck at the SMART TV screen ( the screen that comes up right after you press power ). I of course have held down the recovery button at the back inside the audio port, but it will not go to recovery however long i hold it down. i eventually turn off the device, then boot it back up normally, which it does, and i can normally use it.
It seems I cant get to the recovery mode whicever option I use.
So problably is because I used everytime some MXIII-G roms. I found something regarding this board on russian forums, here http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=595642&st=780 (post #783) and here http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=595642&st=800 (post #810) but with both image firmwares i have the 2% error with usb tool. Maybe here too there's something usefull http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...ed-n200-ap6330, in the chinese pan.baidu server there are some firmwares (I would try to flash
                aml_upgrade_package_s812c_mx3_20150805_r1.7z with USB_Burning_Tool_v2.0.7_x86.rar) and here http://www.roofull.com/news/mxiii-firmware-download

Btw cpuz says that I have m111k4_bcm4335 board, is not bmc4335 the wi-fi chip? If you find a way to flash this box with any method and rom please let me know..i was struggled from some days searching an usefull way. :/ Sorry for bad english, i'm italian.

                    No news.
I'd aready given up myself before asking here.
Later came across the beeink s82 plus that seems to have the same specs as our box, but I haven't tried installing that firmware yet.

                      Hi there,
I have the same exact box. I bought it on geekbuying 1.5 month ago. On geekbuying they were selling it as if it was original MXIII-G (with gigabit LAN). Apparently, they lied.
I tried to flash another ROMs both using USB Burning Tool and Recovery but neither of the methods worked. USB Burning Tool would fail after 2% and Recovery never got launched.
Have you managed to identify what you have ? What box is it ? Have you managed to flash a good ROM on it ?
Please, share with me if you have managed to do something.
                      Thank you!
