    Dead MX3

Hi I have a Cewaal MXIII S812 2GB box and I tried to update the firmware with usb burner software and it said it completed 100% but the box will not start at all I only get a red light as long as I hold down the power button if I let it go the light shuts off I can get it to stay on with the usb cord but I only can get to the 812 logo and nothing else I can get to recovery mode with the toothpick method but I can't seem to get past that either any advise you could give to save the box would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance for your time and knowledge

Sounds like the wrong firmware (past experience I have done myself), try reseting the box to factory firmware, use the usb burner software with the correct firmware (original firmware) you box should start up. Maybe this link will help with the firmware. http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/video...-g-tv-box.html or http://www.roofull.com/news/mxiii-g-firmware-download/ (if this is the box your talking about).

And to be sure, this is the updated MXIII with s812 and Lollipop 5.x? Or might this be the MXIII s812 with 4.4.2? If you try both the firmware with Lollipop (from prior post) and it doesn't work then, should try the firmware for the 4.4.2 here is the link http://chinagadgetsreviews.blogspot....at-442_22.html

Hi thanks for the suggestion but I had no luck with either firmware the chinagagets one stops at about 4% this is what it showed on the computer in pic 1 so I tried the other firmware with usb burning tool could not get it to work since it was for a sd card I downloaded it and put the files on a sd card and this is what it looks like in pic 2 I was not sure if I needed to make it bootable or not so I put the box in recovery mode and that did not work but it could see the info on the card but it could not download and this is what the screen showed in pic 3 so I guess back to the drawing board unless there is something you could suggest that I might have done wrong

Your pictures are too small for me to view...And you said the 4.4 img was for SD card??? So you haven't tried that one since it was SD card is this correct? Why don't you try to update via SD card then? Here is a link to update via SD Card http://convictech.blogspot.com/2014/...ndroid-tv.html

A thought also, you are sure that the box is running the s812?

the box is supposed to be a s812 2gb the short time it was working it was showing the 2g of ram the processor has a big heat sink glued to it so I cannot see what it says I will try to attach the pics again one at a time the first one will be of the screen when I tried to use a sd card and could not get it to work it could see the card but the install failed

Your pictures are too small to make anything out, did you follow the SD instructions for update?
