seahorse, which values did you got with charger? 9v, 1a... what was wrong?

I got a 9V / 2.5A charger. It seems that it's in the standard package of accessories that comes with the Pipo M8, but for the Dual core version (9V), not the Pro!(5V)
      Cheers

so, still same mistake they making. m8PRO needs 5V and 2.5A. but m8 works with 9V.

one more question - where from did you ordered it?

I bought it from trustedbuyonline. I don't feel they're really at fault, I guess Pipo was not too forthcoming about this particular difference between these two M8 versions. So they just took an accessory package for the M8.
And I have to say they helped me with invoicing and payment as to avoid potential problems (read duties) with customs here.
The tablet was properly packed and I got it here (Belgium) in only 9 days!
They will send me a new 5V charger.
Overall I'm pleased with there services.
          Cheers

              Charging? That's the question ...

I found something interesting, namely that if the Pipo M8 pro is REALLY charging then there's a little red light shining through the mic hole.
If it only indicates charging without the red light then it's NOT charging.
              Cheers

                  - Slide/swipe the settings area/drawer down from the top right corner of the Home screen. Select "Settings".
                  - Scroll down the list of settings on the left panel to the last entry. Select/tap "About tablet".
                  - The "Build number" is the last entry on the list that appears of the right panel. The firmware date in there should look something like "20130628" which would read as 28 June 2013.

                    Bluetooth GPS

Resurrecting this thread for a quick question before I make a purchase...

I like everything about this tablet, but I also want GPS. Has anyone tried to provide a bluetooth GPS connection from their android phone to their M8Pro (using Google Maps)? I am evaluating two apps from the Market: "GPS over BT" and "Bluetooth GPS" (one for the tablet and one for the phone). I'm also using FoxFi to provide a wifi connection to the tablet from the same phone.

As the tablet I am using for the evaluation already has GPS (Asus Transformer TF300T), even with the "location" GPS turned off, I don't really trust my results.

                    Appreciate any feedback.

                          Now that's Service!

                          Thank you, Steve!!

I thought it should work, and you are using the same apps with which I was experimenting. My tests were giving a delayed response when driving (the tablet couldn't keep-up with my changing position). Because I didn't have the additional line in my properties file, I assume I was just using the LAN location service, not the GPS receiver in the phone with Maps (the sattelite tool did relay real-time data to the tablet from the phones GPS receiver).

Looks like I have found my new (smaller than 10.1", bigger than 7") tablet!

Randy, thank you for the custom ROMs. I will most likely try them soon. Good luck with the Chinese download (once their server is back up)!

Has anyone successfully replaced their power button? Or know how to turn on with a broken power button/switch?
