Edit : do not have the right cable and I think I will stop with this box and will buy an odroid C2.
Thanks again.

Someone would be so kind as to explain how to load firmware ?
However, the only one that can help solve the problem with a custom rom could be the big Finless.
Someone has tried to put on OpenELEC?Last edited by frostmoon69; 01 May 2016, 20:05.

1. Copy the file to the root directory of microSD card. Don't unzip.
2. Rename it update.zip
3. Run update.Last edited by Krakatau; 03 May 2016, 08:49.

Hi everyone.
I've had that box for 2 weeks and I'm quite pleased with it, even if there are some minor annoyances.
Regarding the update process, well the OTA soft works well, when there are updates I mean. I think I've had 3 or 4 of them.
So for the questions: Who is the manufacturer? I ask because QueenSlayer seems to have had contacts with someone who knows, or at least provided a firmware.
Next, I was wondering how I can troubleshoot usb audio. I have bose companion 5 usb speakers, I can have audio with Neutron Player, but not system wide. USB audio isn't available in the GUI settings. But with a root explorer, some config files show that the bose usb audio system is connected.
As for the wifi, I opened the box and when you take a look at the antenna, it's obviously the culprit... Like in my xiaomi and cam, the antenna is a wire attached to a small bendable circuit. Gives poor reception.
Last but not least, for cooling we have a large piece of metal that eventually gets hot as the box is closed and full plastic. Also, the pad is not properly centered on the cpu.
So as upgrades, I will probably retrofit an old GPU rad I have somewhere. Wifi? I don't care, I use the ethernet, even if it's hardware limited to 100Mbps.

Neutron player works, but it seems they have their own code to directly access usb DACs. So it only tells all the hardware is ok, but not much about that box's conf regarding audio routing and everything needed.

After reboot, another update is possible (done).
But, the audio hdmi passthrough is always bugged (dts) , kodi or spmc, same issue.

I haven't tried KODI player but I played an mkv blueray rip movie using MX player and it's fine with audio hdmi passthru. My receiver shows 7.1 Dolby TrueHD! I was testing to see what it can do so I didn't play it long. Also I was playing it from my 2TB NTFS harddrive via USB.

Yes the problem is related with kodi or spmc.
After searching, it seems that the only device with S905 (at a reasonable price) witch work very with the openelec interface is the Odroid C2 with librelec.
(http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=258707) Wrxtasy make a really good work with this unit.
These chinese and not to pricey S905 android box are usualy bought for using kodi (or spmc), and, at this moment, it's not complety usable.
Actualy, my good old Raspberry Pi1 is better for this use than my Mini M8s but with limitations (Not too fast in kodi, no 4k, no h265....).
