I'm testing zidoo and tronsmart firmware portage to these box
..... I've used digital me SD card upgrade method...

You only need to change some value in file that you will put on the SD card (this SD card was prepared to flash openelec and validator wifi fix file before so you don't need to format it just erase the files and out new one)

1-I've downloaded the 1.0.11 firmware on zidoo from zidoo update page.
2-from openelec files to flash I have modified factory_upgrade_param.aml on notepad with this value : - - update_package=/sdcard/ZIDOO_x5_v1.0.11_ota.zip--wipe_cache--wipe_data
3-make sur zidoo firmware file on sdcard is exactly renamed : ZIDOO_x5_v1.0.11_ota.zip
4-to ensure success I've also extract zidoo recovery from the zip file and put it together on the SD card (you could try twrp : have not tested... You will have to rename twrp recovery to recovery.img)
5-finally you will have the three file on the sdcard put it in box and boot in recovery mode wait until the android robot and release the bottom.. You will get the zidoo interface

Note the remote will not work you need a mouse and keyboard...

My problem is when I connect to Internet I get an activation violation message it seems my mac is not recognized... Finaly I have been obliged to revert back to the mini m8s original firmware...

How to remove the activation message... Zidoo firmware is so fluid... The zdmc (kodi) is very fast and réponds quickly I think it have been build over spmc...

Please try and give feedback....

Note: if you want to get back the original boot you have to flash openelec first before applying the validator fix rom...

Hello, I want to instal rom on my MINI M8S tv box from freaktab, but when I am trying to install it I have errors:
-Size of image is larger than target device when I install soft as .img
-Could not find 'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip when I install soft as .zip

I try to install rom in TWRP from my micro sd card. I hope you will help me with my problem.

Hi, Im having the very slow wifi issue and have read all the posts. Firstly, how can I fell my firmware\rom version - is it the same as the kernel or build version? I have kernel version it01@ Ubuntu #1 and build: lmy47v.20160604 test-keys. Thanks in advance for any advice

Same here!! any new firmware or solutions to this.
I've also seen that remix os supports s905 devices, any follow up on this? or maybe some ports?

somehow I formated system with twrp and now can't install any firmware because I don't have cable yet. also somehow I managed to install a minix mx firmware because it was the only one that I couls flash, but ofcource nothing works, and now my usb ports don't work. I am able to flash openlec but can't use it with remote ore mouse/airmouse. Any solutions?
every time I try to flash any zip file it says eithe secure check failed or this package is for p200_g2 , this is a p200.

Any help or this thread is dead?

Okay, gave up trying to update my box via SD card so made a cable and flashed the wifi fix image I then checked for an update and it worked and updated.

My version now is LMY47V-201604111733 , but i am not sure what version this is, is there a newer firmware ???

Dont plug the box into the TV and the PSU is not need the box will power up off the USB cable.

wifi issue...has anyone attempted the wifi fix that works on the M8 (big box) by moving the wifi antenna away from the motherboard. I haven't had a chance to look inside the box to see if this is a possibility.

My friends Mini M8S (S905) seems to freeze after a little use, say 5-10 minutes inside of regular use. It doesn't seem to freeze however in the recovery TWRP areas. Could this be over heating of the GPU chips?

I thought it might be firmware causing issues so i flashed 104L03, no apps installed but still getting freezes when using...

Anybody have suggestions?

i'll see if i can open this thing and run it with no cover and see if it still crashes...Ok got box open using video below was easy to open, now running it without cover on my desk...summertime here so still hot even without cover but should be better without it on trapping heat in

Whats a good app for GPU and CPU readings? I went into Kodi system hardware are and it was showing cpu at 32+C Which isn't that hot, so wondering if its GPU or whats up?

I updated my mini m8s with firmware from this thread and over 3 days in, lots of Kodi, YouTube, iPlayer, Film on watching and Base mark x test, Riptide GP2 and Beach Buggy both are Amazon underground app free versions. All is appearing to work well.

No USB cable used or Firmware tool other than the backup & update tool already installed with box when new.

Here is my post off cnx-software of what I did,

If it helps I up dated my older Mini m8s using the in built update backup app.

Trial and error revealed I did not need to rename the firmware zip file I got off freaktab.com, version 03.
File needs to be on a sdcard.
Internal storage needs plenty of free space.

Once done firmware downloaded new update but once finished and rebooted all installed apps are wipped and no Google play!

By chance found doing a factory reset from new firmware options and rebooted and Google play now installed and firmware ver 03 !

Then I just updated apps and installed apps from Google play. Several days in all working fine, kodi, YouTube, Filmon, iPlayer, Riptide GP2 and Beach Buggy.

Hope it helps with newer box, I used no USB cables or other firmware tools.

In backup & update tool, click select and it scans for zip files, hence no need to rename file.
