Have first edition sd-robots installed using TWRP(but CPU speed drops to 2.4 which 2nd edition that is not a not TWRP version fixes; however as unit is rooted can set cpu gouvenor ).
Would like to do dual boot option using openelec.
I know there are instructions to do this with original firmware but what would the instructions be using sd-robots firmware and which update would you need to use and how would this work when TWRP screen comes on for the update...which options do you select?

this instructions You mentioned ( thanks Doggyofone ) is about how to dualboot with SD-Robots firmware in nand flash, and OE on sd card, not like You said with original firmware

so, first step You did successfuly , for enabling dualboot just follow this step by step instructions , I think everything is there
