I can't comment on the sound when operating the reset button though, but I'm sure someone else can.
Wasn' there some procedure for flashing a softbricked unit?
Edit: Did you try, in RKAndroidTool included with the RileyROMs - to include the Loader with the flash? It seems to be de-selected by default. I suspect the bootloader might be whats corrupted in your case.
If this doesn't work, you can using RKAndroidTool for EraseIDB, then try flashing stock rom with RockShipBatchTool v1.7 and use the Restore button instead of upgrade.
and much appreciated for your help

As long as the loader is first on the list, and it is checked, it should load and flash with no offset.
You might consider trying one of the other parameter files just in case as a test.
I'm currently traveling...so not much help, sorry.

Anyways, now you have rrileys reply - just check it and go. And as he suggested, if it doesnt work out, you could try out one of the other parameters. If none of this work - try eraseIDB first, then restore.
Keep us posted, details pease. I'm off to bed :yawnSupport your local flasher

After you flash...how far are you getting.
You see the Pipo kernel boot logo?
Do you see a static slide of the boot animation?
Does it get to the boot animation?
How far does it get?
This will help me troubleshoot.

One more question..which recovery are you using? In the kit I uploaded today CWM was the default. Try renaming it and flash the stock recovery as recovery.img.
See if that works for you.

It really sounds like a recovery issue. If he can still get the tablet in flash mode, he doesn't need to flash the loader.
