Any thoughts of getting rid of the plate altogether?
I almost didn't remove mine but the really thick pad between the S912 and the plate (Aw S92) kept the metal plate spaced well above any other components as well as blocked access to them.
I have some small 9mm square and 11X9mm sinks that I planned to put on the ram chips. But apparently are hiding somewhere in my mad scientist lab were processors, rc heli's and equipment, motorcycles, ATV engines ,etc all meet.
I do have some 20x11x5mm, 40X40X10mm, and more 9X9X5mm sinks on the way as well as some adhesive thermal paste and tape. Ended up ordering many of each since shipping costs more than the chips.

After seeing a mention of a 3rd USB port available on the PCB of the GT1 (Q201), I did some checking of my own and sure enough there it is just to the left of where the front most USB port is soldered on.
I can guess the orientation of the spare port due to a small resistor, on both the used and the spare port , running to a common trace.
Has anyone verified the orientation of this port ( which is pin 1)?
I plan to hook up a small 5v fan internally to this port. Before I run the board unboxed doing live probing to find/ verify +5v and ground, I wanted to check and see if any one had already done so.
thanks

I have had a good read through the thread and would like the general consensus on if this is a good purchase now in its current state for Kodi 17.1.Last edited by DrunkSequence; 07 April 2017, 19:36.

I have this tv box (2GB/32GB) for about a month now, no problems so far, games, movies, wifi, all work great. I made a video about it if someone is interested, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxZbNWSVIFo

I received this box not even a week.
Everything seems to run just fine, Kodi, Youtube, Stremio etc but I must say the followig:
- My box cpu is 100Mhz to 1.5Ghz and not 2.0Ghz and I was lead to believe and which was one of the main reasonm I choose this box.
- Its sitting right next to my router but can't find my wi-fi connection and does find my neighbors which are all from same company. All remaining devices at home (TV's tablets, smartphones, homecinema) find the connections without any problem
- The remote control is just for the dumb to stare as its completly wortless. I'm using a wireless mouse and keyboard which work perfect, and very usefull in reading mode and when scrolling pages.
Sent several emails to Beelink and not a single reply.
My oppinion, if you know exactly what you are buying, just buy, if you are expecting a box with the advertised specs, go for another box.
I'm absolutly sorry for not buying the Xiaomi box which was just €15 more....
